Caramel malt aromas, brown sugar, toffee, fairly strong and aromatic overall. Big roasted caramel malts pound the tongue. Sugar, chocolate. Some hops in the finish. There’s some coffee in there, too, albeit off in the distant. Bright, thin-bodied, but satisfying, and very easy to drink. One of the better browns around. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Aroma was of cocoa, and bublegum. Flavor was roasted, chocolate caramel as it warmed good beer. Much more like a porter then a brown ale. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 12, 2007 Enjoyed at NoogFest III. A dark walnut pour that is very clear. Malt aroma with molasses. Nice brown ale. Good toasted and nutty grain with minimal hops that are complimentary to the hints of sweetness that remind me of bread and molasses. Body is creamy (perhaps the oatmeal) and full. Good. Beardface (1036), Eugene, Oregon, USA

Nice brown pour with hints of red and a decent fluffy tan head. Big whiff of chocolate and oatmeal with some light hop aroma as well. Nice flavors of caramel, chocolate and oatmeal with a surprisingly large hop bite for the style. Very enjoyble and I cannot wait to break into the Furious she brought me! | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Can: Pours deep amber with a thin mocha head. Lots of caramel and toffee notes mix with a white sugar sweetness in the nose. Milk chocolate, cocoa, plum and roasted coffee notes make an appearance as well. The plummy note persists in the body, riding atop the wave of caramel malts. Complexity sums up the body - there is alot going on for a 5.1% brown ale. Citrusy hops, creamy malts and dark fruits are all present. This is a nice beer, but it is kind out of whack and overhopped for me. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA

Drinking is smooth, nice chocolate malts and oats add to the body. Some slight papery flavors just slightly add. Great finish. Nice beer. Very cool can. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 15, 2006 Lightly roasted toffee aroma. Reddish brown pour with an off-white head. Very creamy mouthfeel. Chocolate and toffee dance and play with a delightful bitterness. The bitterness lingers. This is kind of abrown pale ale. Interesting, tasty and quaffable. Thanks Jeff.
