Apr 6, 2008 Can, thx to akevitt. I had some doubts how to rate this one, as it was surely infected or way past BB-date. No date on the can though. I ended up trying to ignore the sourish aromas and flavors and I hope I will get a new chance some day. It poured a clear, dark brown with a beige to tan head. The aroma had chocolate, lots of fruity hops, a little smoked hint and some sourness. Chocolate, some sourness, malt and caramel in the flavor, leading to a quite bitter finish with some chocolate. Full body. Even though it was gone bad in a way, it was still a good beer, but I think a can in this condition would have been way too much to finish on my own. (080301)

Sep 17, 2009 Brown color, with a really nice rudy/umber color when held to the light. Tallish, somewhat creamy, aged canvas hued head. Good lace. Toasted malt, light chocolate, dark caramel, and herbal hops in the aroma. Smells like a brown ale, nothing to exciting for me. Thin toasted malt flavors in the start. Gets more bitter and starts to get tinny and thinner the deeper in I get into it. After having the CB yesterday, I can recall the base, and now can taste how much the coffee added. HInts of fruit in the middle. Finish is dry and bitter. Really quite boring without the coffee.

Aug 9, 2007 Can@chris_o. Blackcurrant and chocolate malts aroma. Dark brown, beige head, good lace. Sweet, roasted, coffee, black berries. Soft mouthfeel with a dry bit harsh finish.

Oct 4, 2007 Draft @ Brewery: Dark brown, nice head and lacing. Nose of sweet fruit and cocoa, plenty of chocolate and rich cream, nut bread and dough. The flavor is rich and creamy, lots of chewy malt and chocolate. Nice finish. Good.

Apr 23, 2007 Can trade from shigadeyo. Poured clear brown with an average off-white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate Moderate sweet toasted nut aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium sweet smooth flavor with a medium bitteersweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.

Mar 27, 2009 Can @ chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2008. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel and chocolate aroma with some hoppy hints. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with hints of hops and coffee. Has a roasted malty choclate and coffee finish.

Aug 7, 2007 Canned - Chris O shindig 2007 - A dark brown beer with hints of purple. The aroma is malty and has big alcohol notes. Seems very Barley winish in the nose. Big flavours also. Hops, malt and alcohol. Really cannot believe this is a 5.1% Brown Ale. Amazing brewery.
