A nice creamy mouthfeel on it, a touch of sweetness to begin, and then a coffee bitter finish. I just wish I could get this around me. BustedFlat (553), Edina, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2007 16 ounce can. Pint glass. Poured dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is of pine hops, malt and cocoa. Taste has notes of coffee, dark chocolate, roast malt and caramel. Initial drinks are sweet with a creamy mouthfeel, but as you go you start to detect some of the hops and even a hint of bitterness on the finish. Very nice. I had one of these a few months back at Old Chicago and they served it way too cold. It was pretty bland that nght, but if you let it warm a bit before opening the can the flavors really come alive.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 26, 2008 A dark brown color with a fizzy thin brown head. The aroma has a lot of sweet brown sugar malt and some mild hop character. The flavor is strong roasted malt with some chocolate and caramel. There is a bit of a hop profile in the finish, but doesn’t leave much on the tongue. Medium bodied beer. WisconsinBeer (521), St Paul, Minnesota, USA

Pours a deep ruby brown color, with a lively frothy head. Flavor is light roast, mild coffee, vanilla bean, oats, and cream, with a nice dryness to finish it off. Medium bodied. Smooth and easy drinking on the palate. Solid session beer. Better than most boring brown ales. elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA
