Aug 18, 2007 Sampled at an STL beer gathering. Pours mahogany with a crimson hue and a tannish head. The aroma has roasted nutty malt, light butter and some sweetness. Medium smooth body with smoothness and a bit of grassiness and small frothy carbonation. The flavor starts with roasted nuttiness and lots of hops for the style - very smooth enjoyable flavors. The finish has more sharpness, more hops and then lingering mild coffee. Thumbs up for this choice brown ale.

Jun 28, 2007 Can, with thanks to hellomynameis, pours a coke brown with a nice tan head, good lacing. Malty aroma of light chocolate, nuts and toasted oats. Flavor is more of the same, well balanced and mild with just a touch of sweetness. Palate is a medium mouthfeel, light carbonation, and a bit sticky.

Aug 13, 2007 Can. Can’t believe that I haven’t rated this yet. Aroma of lightly roasted malt, hops, nuts and grain. Pours a rich dark brown with some amber highlights and a huge khaki head. Flavor has some nice grassy hops, dark chocolate and some roasted malt. Very crisp on the palate with average carbonation.

Feb 18, 2009 Canned. Much more complex and flavourful brown than is typical. Dark brown pour with a medium offwhite head than dissolves into a ring with a little lacing. Aroma of roasted caramel malt. Flavour has some coffee, hops, chocolate and a quick finish. Easy drinking.

Jan 19, 2008 Via trade with Cryotek. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Has hints of caramel, some brown sugar, hops, and spices. Finishes with a creamy texture, with a slight bitter.

Jun 3, 2008 The appearance is a dark brown with a light brown head. Flavor is a combination of coffee and caramel and a little vanilla. It is a great beer with a little dry finsh that suites teh beer well.

Dec 4, 2007 Thank you, Ron. This has been on my want list for awhile and what luck. Pours a light brown with a thin white head. Hints of sweet malt and bead. Taste is sweet with nuts, slight mocha and chocolate late. Smooth finish.
