| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Can brought back by my lovely wife. A dark red brown with a huge fluffy tan head. Aroma is slightly sweet and fresh coffee. Flavor was caramel, a little chocolate, and then the most awful coffee flavor I have ever tasted. Most coffee beers have a lovely deep rich coffee flavor but this was crappy pre-ground Folgers that had been left unsealed in the freezer. Bad bitter and stale coffee. This beer could be great if a better coffee was used, I had a hard time finishing it, stick to the standard Bender. Snojerk321 (1962), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2009 Can. Pours deep coffee brown with a 2 finger thick tan head that left some spotty lacing. Tons of fresh ground coffee on the nose along with roasted dark malts and faint hops. Flavor was very roasty with lots of coffee and a fairly dry finish. One of the best brown ales I’ve had?......I think so. lithy (1700), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2009 Very good at doing what it says it will, which is have a very strong coffee component. Pours opaque reddish-brown, very dark, almost black, with a small tan head. Aroma is almost all roasted coffee. Flavor is also very strong on the roasted coffee, but there’s a bit of maltiness detectable and some hoppiness toward the finish. Palate is effervescent, with a very fine but still somewhat aggressive carbonation. GMCC2181 (861), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 29, 2009 Can from stfun... Shared with wolf. poured into a snifter, light brown in color, small head. Aroma of all coffee beans. Taste is a brown ale with a ton of coffee beans. I am not a coffee fan but this was bad, just a little too much coffee for my liking. Texture was a little on the lite side. Overall not bad... If you like coffee this beer is for you. bobbypaulson (100), , Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 26, 2009 on tap at busters on 28th. Pours a very dark brown color with little head. Smells of obvious coffee and smoked wood. The taste is instantly of coffee but has a bitter aftertaste. I was a alittle disapointed with this beer. I enjoy a good bitter beer but this one wasn’t nice on my palate maybe cause it was at the end of a long tasteing menu I will have to give this another try though.
