Commercial Description:
Oh great, a fizzy yellow beer in a can, that's just what the craft beer world needs! CynicAle melds Old World ingredients in a new school style. French malted barley, English oats and Belgian yeast create honey and black pepper flavors. Lively Slovenian hops provide the floral, apricot and peach notes. Toss your doubts away, toss one back and enjoy!

Pours an amber orange color with a small off white head that settles to a thin film of bubbles. The aroma shows a good amount of fruits with banana and lemons with some floral aromas of grass and coriander. The flavor shows the same with the fruits and floral characters playing along with a hint of yeast. Some floral hops and black pepper are noticeable on the backend. Medium bodied and smooth and fairly easy to drink. Well carbonated with a lengthy bitter and dry finish. Pretty good coming from a can.

Can. Pours a slightly hazy, pale amber, small, wispy off-white head that is just barely there. Aroma is peaches, grass and touches of flowers in the background. Flavor is a very nice mesh of subdued peaches, grass, sweet malt and hops. Finish is beautiful, dry and slightly bitter. I really liked this, wish I had better access to it.

Pours the color of apple juice with hardly any head. Taste was lemon and nectar. Smell was fresh cut grass. I’ve had better.

Can poured into a normal pint glass. This beer has a murky yellow color. There was a very thin head that disappeared quickly. The aroma smells of pine, fruits and hops. I found the beer to have a nice spicy taste and a bitter finish. It was very well balanced and I would love to seek it out again. Not a bad seasonal beer.

Can via trade. Pours a hazy orange colour with a small white head and some sheet lacing. Small sweet aroma of fruit and flowers. Flavour is a little spicey and a little bitter from the hops. Refreshing and easy drinking.

16oz can courtesy of cas. Pours a dark yellow to amber color with a one finger white head that settles quickly. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of hops, honey, flowers, pine, some ripe fruit and floral citrus. Flavor is sweet and floral as well with notes of fresh ripe fruit, honey, flowers, citrus and floral hops. Generally light to medium body with a sweet and floral hops finish.

The color is a yellow/orange, with a mostly diminishing creamy white head and excellent lacing. The aroma is kind of a pine flower smell. The taste is a lite bitter, a little watery, not a whole lot going on here.

This was surprisingly good, Surly is doing big things. 16oz can thanks to vwcraig. Great orange color with a scant head. Smells like bready spices, nice. The flavor is deliciously fruity, lemons and malts with a little pepper thrown in. Overall a very tasty saison from a can. Serving type: can Reviewed on: 02-15-2009 00:30:07
