**Aroma / Appearance** - Foamy head raced to the top of the glass before settling into a clear bronze body. Black pepper, sweet malts, wheat, and assertive hops form a very sharp picture of what is to come. It is not as aggressive as an IPA but still makes its presence known.
**Flavor / Palate** - Pepper, malt, and wheat surge across the tongue. Lightly bitter it is not harsh at all. The finish is almost peachy but not quite. Warming at times it is a nice sessionable ale (if such a thing is possible from a 6% ABV beer). I could see sharing a pitcher of this with friends at the pub. hillfiiiiire (286), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Golden beer with thin head. Some fruit and tiny bit of spice in aroma. Surly manages to get the farmhouse aroma just a bit. Flavor is much the same. The farmhouse idea comes through more clearly. Definitely nice rounded body. Solid beer. A little bit of lace , but it doesn’t stay. Aroma is yeast and spice. Taste is yeasty and spicey also. Could be a little stronger. Flavor and aroma are to faint. As other raters have mentioned, could use more funk. noncaloric (625), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
