Pours a murky gold color and 1.5 fingernails of off-white head that holds retention well. A yeasty, dusty aroma; very reminiscent of a Saison. The taste is citrusy and wheaty--like a hefeweizen--subtle grassy hops, white bread, clove, and banana with a dry, peppery finish. This beer confused me as it shares the qualities of a Hefeweizen, Saison, and Belgian Strong all in one beer. Medium/high carbonation and medium body. A great brew. bdigital (591), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA

Notes of belgian yeast, bready malts, pepper, and floral hops are noted...flavor consists of sharp, floral hops, citrus, pepper-y accents, bread dough and a bit of barnyard. Medium-bodied and quite good overall. sleestak (191), Williamston, Michigan, USA

Aroma had fruity esters and light grassy hops. You definitely got the yeast notes of the classic Belgian saison, but none of the barnyard funkiness. Taste was fruity up front with a peppery finish. Definitely a different breed of saison, but nicely balanced and refreshing. masonjer (564), Holt, Michigan, USA

Taste was started fruity, belgian yeast, then finished with earthy hops, pepper and a very dry finish. Really interesting beer. I enjoyed it. TURDFERGUSON (1606), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA

Nose is nice a yeasty with a fair amount of hop presence. Flavor similar; more yeast, hops, a bit of spices, pepper, and a mild sweetness. kosko20 (313), Bemidji, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Pretty good brew, on tap at the brewery. Sweet smell of fruits. A yellow-orange color with a small off white head. Flavors of malts, barley, yeast are balanced decently but doesn’t give it too much "mmm" factor. Smooth with a dry finish. Overall, decent but very impressed with the awesome aroma. jstraw (776), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Hazy blonde with decent, white head / Nose of orange & lively spice (root beer) / Medium body, lively carbonation, with balance of malts & hops, and good finish / Floral flavors of orange, lemon, cinnamon, cloves, and root beer / Lighter, but a lively summer refresher.
