| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2009 16oz can courtesy of theisti. Pours a orangish yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to a thin layer. Floral, some fruit esters, oat, pepper and some wet hay. Nice carb up front, dry and peppery with then some light sweetness and faint bittering grassy flavor. Very enjoyable and I just love that it comes in a can. I would buy this frequently if it was local to me. Thanks Tim for sending the Surly assortment my way. Narnad (720), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 21, 2009 Served from tap. Clear, yellow-orange color with zero carbonation and a pretty thin but dense white heat. Aroma is lightly grainy, a very strong fruity note-lots of esters, apple, rose; light spiciness to it and a light sourness with some barnyard funk to end. Flavor has an early grainy/straw note that quickly fades to a spicy hoppy presence with the funky sweetness of apple, grape and a bunch of barnyard character. A light yeasty note finishes it off. Density is very light with almost zero carbonation but there is decent head retention and lacing with the brew. A bit watery in flavor and the very low carbonation didn’t really help it out any . A very good sweetness to it but overall just an okay brew and was just a bit disappointed about this brew from Surly., who’s generally really reliable. 13mikey (160), New Hope, Minnesota, USA

Cloudy yellow color, foamy white head that quickly dissipated. Wheat, yeast aroma with a hint of citrus. Wheat flavor with a slight hoppy note, lingering tangy finish. I enjoyed this much more than I did at the brewery tour. It stands up much better alone than in a lineup.
