Oh great, a fizzy yellow beer in a can, that's just what the craft beer world needs! CynicAle melds Old World ingredients in a new school style. Can. A golden beer with a off-white head. The aroma is of caramel malt, yeast, fruits and hops. The taste is sweet caramel malt, pine, hops and fruits. Medium body with a dry light cookie finish.

Can from Capone’s. Deep yellowish/gold pour with 2-finger white head. This one looks great. The aroma is bready malt, spicy florals, Saaz hops, cobwebby yeast, candi sugar. Tastes hoppy, crisp, dry, floral, yeasty, with pale malt evident late, as are black peppery notes and more florals. Nice complexity, and this one stays bone dry with a great floral, spicy, and citrus fruity intermingling. I’m amazed at what Surly has done with canned beer.

My first canned Saison, thanks to <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=4 The body’s golden and it’s capped with a sustained fizzy head. Nice fruity aroma with peaches and other stoned fruit, sweet cirtus scents, and a peppery spiciness. Smooth. The flavor continues with fruity tastes and adds a drop of honey, more black pepper, and a citrus rind bitterness that lasts well into the mildly dry finish. Nice.

U.S.A. Rating #2300 out of 3676.

16 oz can from Bartzilla via GaltScat, the master of the midwest. Poured a nice golden color. Aroma was malt and spices. Flavor is bitter euro hops and pepper. Holy crap is this stuff peppery. I didn’t detect any peach like the can says, I got hops and pepper. It’s light enough to be a good everyday beer, just a tad too peppery for my taste. Still good, though.

Courtesy of Hopscotch. Copper orange pour, small white head. Aroma is citrus hops, spicy belgian yeast, spice and floral notes. Taste is spicy belgian yeast all the way, honey, loads of hop bitterness with citrus and floral hops flavor. Bitterness is quite high for a saison. Toasted malt, spicy with a touch orange in the background and lingering hop bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel and good carbonation. A different approach at a saison with all the bitterness. Not bad.

#2 in the "my new roomate is awesome b/c she brought me beer from Minnesota" Surly tasting. 16oz can. Clear orange amber with huge (like the bender) creamy white head. Aroma is citrus hop with yeast and spice. Flavor is light sweet, spice, saison yeast, pine hops, light fruit (in type and quanity) , very tasty overall. Med body, and light creamy. I can’t get over how fresh the cynicale and the bender have tasted, like I just had it on tap. What’s better than getting off work and watching the tick and drinking a beer from a can (well now in a glass, but none the less...)?
