dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA May 21, 2009 Thanks to Tytoanderso for this sweet bonus. Pours a deep amber orange with thick off-white head. Aroma of mostly citrus with slight floral hops, pine, and grass. Flavor is surprisingly complex, but didn’t quite have the hops bite I was expecting. Not a bad thing though, because this is really one very great IPA. Definitely gonna be trying to get my hands on this again. bitbucket (2026), Kirkland, Washington, USA May 18, 2009 Pours clear orange amber with a lacy ring of foam. Grapefruit and sweet goodness in the aroma. Medium-light body and medium carbonation. Toffee nut and citrus taste with a dry bitter finish. blklab2007 (938), Connecticut, USA May 12, 2009 can poured an amber color with a thick foamy off white head that retained well. aroma has beautiful hop character with citrus, bitter and sweetness. has that sweet juicy fruit thing. mouth feel is medium with plenty of carbonation. flavor has more malt coming through, nice citrus, lightly bitter resins, and hefty sweetness. nicely balanced out proving strong flavors while still being easy to drink. stobbe74 (655), Denmark May 6, 2009 Can, 16 fl. oz. Pours a brown beer with offwhite head. The aroma is hops (citrus and some orange), with slight notes of peach. The flavor is likewise hoppy with fruits. The palate is pleasant bitterness, and this is overall a good IPA. ksurkin (355), Norfolk, Virginia, USA May 3, 2009 16oz can via trade at DLD. pours a beautiful, slightly dark ruby/copper with a perfect half inch vanilla white head and great lacing through the whole glass. aroma is wonderful with bold, sweet hops, grapefruit, pineapple juice, some spicy pine, grass clippings, and just a touch of toasty malt. flavor is delicious as well with spicy, bitter hops up front with notes of pine, orange, and grapefruit perfectly balanced by slightly sweet, biscuity malts and a hint of caramel with a long, bittersweet hoppy finish. mouthfeel is almost creamy, smooth, with solid carbonation and very easy to drink. overall, a wonderful IPA. noompa (130), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 2, 2009 On tap @ Reggie’s. Been meaning to have this for a while and it did not disappoint- big, juicy IPA. Ar: Fresh mown grass, spring floral hops and grapefruit. Ap: Sensuous misty/honey amber color- white head w/ heavy retention that stuck to the glass and left the most complex galaxy lacing i have seen in a while. Fl: Spicy hops, nutty Brie, grapefruit and maybe even hints of allspice- a winter IPA if there ever was one. The Golden Promise malt isn’t as evident as I would have expected. Pa: Thick, loamy-ness at the end. Very bubble-gummy flavor makes it a super juicy brew. Not as good as the Two Hearted, but very tasty indeed. Nicely done folks. The Teabagged version (on cask at DLD ’09) smelt wonderful, but lost a bit in the flavor. guyinchicago (516), marengo, Illinois, USA May 1, 2009 Picked up at DLD in a trade with skyview poured copper with thck intense head of light brown aromas were of hops, malts and caramel flavor of the same a great brew and a must try Iceman82 (26), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 30, 2009 Updated: Jun 28, 2009I’m a hop-head...so this was made for me!! I think this is my idea of a perfect IPA. Pours a dark copper color, hues of red and orange. Medium-sized head that leaves a trail of beautiful lace to the last sip. Big, fruity aroma upon smelling...peaches, pineapple, citrusy hops. Maybe Amarillo hops are used....not really sure. Flavor is pine, fruity hops...BIG, BIG HOPS...with a nice malt balance. Dry, bittering finish that I love! Not quite a session beer but....one of my favorites.
