Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Can. Aroma grassy, citrusy, grapefruity, with ample sweet malt behind. Flavor the same, lots of both the sweet malt and the grassy hop character with citrus in there as well, very dry-feeling hops, not very oily/resiny. Very good, though the combined components of heavy grass and big, sweet malt were somehow just a bit off for me. 7-4-7-4-14/3.6

Rerate from tap at ACBF. Aroma of grass, grapefruit, mango, awesomeness. Flavor continues on the tropical path with high bitterness and fluffy, sweet malt. Very good.

Pint can courtesy of theisti. Pours a gorgeous hazy red/orange color with a small receding white head. Huge citrus hop nose. Intense grapefruit flavor up front balanced with a nice malt middle. Then finishes with more bitter hop bite. Very good. Wish it were available in New England.

Poured a nice hazy orange color into a frosty pint glass with no head. Aroma was incredibly hoppy and slightly citrusy and pulled me right in. Flavor was woody and assaults the palate with hops. One of my personal favorite IPA’s.

Have sampled many places from Minn. to Il. and now have gotten around to finally rating what, I believe, was first commercially described as a strong pale ale. On tap at Lunar Brewing Co. A deep amber/orange color, with a medium, off white, reducing head,& clingy lace. Aroma is tangerine, pineapple,& tads of other citrus. Resin, more citrus, malty sweetness, & a strong but pleasant hop dryness continue in the flavor to the end and beyond. One of my hop favorites since it’s inception. Has stayed very consistent since my first sampling in Minnesota.

Pours a very pretty somewhat dark orange/red with a thick foamy 1 inch head. Smells of intense fresh citrusy hops dominated the nose. First sip is all hop bitterness that is matched by a just strong enough malt backbone providing an excellent mouthfeel. Very hearty, very clean, very robust. Nice.

Aroma of grapefruit and other fruit juices. Dark clear red, big beige head, abundant lace. Lots of coniferous and citrus hops, rounded out by some vanilla in the finish. Nice hop burn on the palate, albeit a little thin-bodied.

A superb IPA with plenty of grass and citrus flavor. A long-lasting malty finish. Yummm.
