GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA Oct 16, 2008 Thanks to beerbelly, I mean hellbilly I have reached another milestone in my lifelong obsession to score 10K beers before I die. This beer I chose for a reason. It comes in a can. I drank it from the can. I have no idea what it looks like or if it has a gorgeous lasting head or not. I can however smell it and it does smell of the IPA style. I drink from the can and I enjoy it. I do however think this beer is highly over rated. Considering th abv, balance, overall complexity and finish I have come to a determination that it is average. But, it’s one of the best canned beers I’ve ever had. Thanks Josh. beerbill (1918), Laurel, New York, USA Oct 14, 2008 16 oz. can courtesy of a trade with mashmaster. Pours a cloudy amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted until mid-glass and left a layer of foam with each sip. Strong aroma of pine, grapefruit and caramel. The flavor is similar, although it is more dominated by the pine and there is less of a caramel malt base than the aroma would suggest. Bitter hoppy finish. Truly a beer for the hopheads! ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Oct 10, 2008 Cloudy amber with a lasting white head leaving some lace. Strong hoppy aroma with peach, apricot and a little pine. Sweetish malty, with some peach hop flavour, lots of bitterness and a delicious juicy drinkability. golubj (1275), Sunnyvale, California, USA Oct 10, 2008 Can, thanks to kosko20. Reddish amber pour with some off-white head. Some biscuity malt and resiny hops, some citrus also. Flavor is the same, a little sweet but mostly citrusy and earthy hops. It is a little strange though, something in the aftertaste is real biscuity and when it mixes with the citrus hops it doesn’t taste very good. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Oct 6, 2008 Very dark amber with a soft off-white head. Big piney hop nose. Bitter right off the bat, spicy and hoppy throughout. Palate is run with carbonation, hops giving a resiny and oily quality. Defiantly bitter, unrelenting, and sharp, but if you take balance out of it, still enjoyable. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Oct 2, 2008 Can 50cl. @ chris o’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2008. Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, pine, grass, grapefruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (020808) TwoDudes (77), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 1, 2008 Updated: Jan 4, 2009Quite simply the best American IPA I have ever had. The one thing that stands out is what I can only describe as "juicy" hops. Maybe it was the exquisite balance of the beer, with the malt adding some sweetness, but it almost seemed like I was biting into a fresh apricot, or one of the other citrus fruits that came out. Absolutely remarkable. Two Hearted, Alpha King...Sorry. Your reign is over. Long live Furious!!!! zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA Sep 30, 2008 At Piece in Chicago, 09.20.08. Hazy orange amber caramel, white head. Aroma is citrus hoppy: kiwi, tangerine. Flavor is crisp, nice hoppy green leaves, clean bitter finish.
