The one thing that stands out is what I can only describe as "juicy" hops. Maybe it was the exquisite balance of the beer, with the malt adding some sweetness, but it almost seemed like I was biting into a fresh apricot, or one of the other citrus fruits that came out. Absolutely remarkable. Two Hearted, Alpha King...Sorry. Your reign is over. Long live Furious!!!! zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA

This beer bursts with flavor and while it is quite hoppy, there is not excessive bitterness. tdaglow (41), Minnesota, USA

I’ve actually noticed a considerable increase in hoppieness with about my last months perchases in the can. I didn’t notice it so much as when I’d had it on tap last week at the Muddy Pig. mar (1807), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 28, 2008 1 pint can, contents poured into a Stone OG tulip glass.
Appearance is a cloudy deep amber hue with ruby highlights, huge off-white head of craggy foam, thick sticky lacing.
Smell is honey sweetened grapefruit, balanced by a fair amount of caramel and bread malts, slight alcohol.
Taste is dominated by sweet and sour grapefruit hops that are kept in check by a prominent malt profile of breads, caramel, and roast, finishes dry and malty.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, watery texture with an oily resin coating, mild carbonation.
A solid IPA at 6%abv, well-balanced with a surprising malt presence, this definitely has less hops than what we find with SoCal IPAs and it is refreshing to find an example of malts playing nice with hops. bluemooner (230), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
