jstraw (750), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 26, 2008 On tap at Jerry’s. Hazy caramel with big, foamy tan head / Nose of fresh hops and caramel / Light body with pronounced hops over decent malts, and good, sharp finish / Flavors of fresh cut pine, peaches, resin, and caramel / Excellent in a lighter style. DrnkMcDermott (1831), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Jun 26, 2008 Guest tap pint at Flossmoor Station. Hazy brown with light at the edges. Spongy head already gives the impression of a hearty beer. Big, but not quite overwhelming hop smell, circled by wreaths of malt. Tasting, of course, starts with big citrus hops that tear at my uvula like an orange peel studded with pips. As the glass warms, it gains a little earthiness and even some Italian spice. An almost syrupy malt texture with caramel on top, but those darned hops stay front and center all the way down. BCAR (216), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jun 25, 2008 As much as I love hops, there is always something lacking when I pop open a Furious. Not nearly as piney-smooth as the IPAs I prefer. 100 IBU while being 6% seems like there isn’t enough sweetness to offset the bitterness. Good but not great for me. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 22, 2008 Kindly of Gunhaver. Magic in a can, amber pour , thin white head with a strong presence of hops. Beautifully balanced with the malt. A little fruity with some citrus. viciousg42 (46), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jun 18, 2008 extremely hoppy. so hoppy its almost citrus. good at a colder temperature. refreshing as a celebration piece, not really an every day thing. graincrusher (8), ames, Iowa, USA does not count Jun 18, 2008 great hop aroma. excellent ipa with great hop character. dryness in the aftertaste sticks around for way too long. FlssmrBrewAlum (1079), Lisle, Illinois, USA Jun 17, 2008 20 oz. Imperial Pint draft at the Galway Tribes (Frankfort, IL). Poured a wonderous dark amber with a translucent body, nice tan head, and a very inviting appearance. Aromas were like a bouquet, very floral with some nice citrus notes and a touch of sweet malts. Initial taste was heaven. Very assertive floral hops that broke way to some citrus notes. A nice complimentary malt body that balances extremely well with intense hop character. Beautiful! aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Jun 3, 2008 big angry peaches in the aroma. Full malt keeps the powerful hop flavor from being overwhelming. Good.
