NMC01 (58), Denmark Sep 14, 2009 Draft at 8th Street Grill. Wow! This certainly has something to it. A well behaving malt profile and a very delicious and rather long lasting hop palate kicks in (maybe not furiously but very much present in deed). This one will hop OD a lager boy. brosen561 (18), Minnesota, USA Sep 13, 2009 19 oz can into mug. 19 oz at a time is a great thing. Pours very dark golden-brown with a thick, dark beige head. Wonderful aroma of citrus, coriander, and pine/grass. Very strong flavors of grapefruit, lemongrass, pine, and plenty of hops, with notes of caramel. Nice, full bodied beer. Finishes with a strong bitterness and leaves a little residual in your mouth. Just awesome. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Sep 13, 2009 Tap at State and Lake. Deep amber pour with a creamy off-white head. Big dank hoppy aroma. Pine and a lot of fresh hoppy resin. There is a little bit of toasted malt and a kiss of citrus as well. A little bit of orange peel. As it warms the malts take on a lightly sweet caramelly character. Even a kiss of cookie dough as well. Quite a pronounced dank resiny bitterness, but it still has a solid balance throughout. Pretty damn tasty. ditmier (1015), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 9, 2009 2009 Can - Thanks tytoanderso! - Pour is dark translucent amber with a frothy off white head...aroma is sticky hop nuggets, citrus resin and pine, sweet malt...flavour is all of the above, massive resin bitterness that is balanced with way more malt than typically found, results in an IPA/IIPA hybrid of sorts...just terrific... bvc (227), Kenmore, Washington, USA Sep 4, 2009 16oz can sent to me by theisti...thanks Tim! Pours a deep amber that has a ruby/copper hue to it. Big fluffy white head that leaves a great sticky lacing on the way down. The nose on this is fantastic...huge resin, sweet citrus and sharp pine all with subtle malt tones. Taste is equally amazing. Balanced bready malt with big hops throughout that are just so balanced. To me, this is a text book example of what an IPA should be. msante79 (778), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Sep 4, 2009 On tap at Sheffields River Grove. Pours amber with white head. Aroma is hoppy with citrus and lots of caramel malt. Flavor is bitter hops, citrus, lot of caramel malt and some toffee. Finishes bitter with good mouthfeel and carbonation. Quite different than what I was expecting. WIth all the caramel and toffee flavors it seems like a hopped up brittish IPA. With all the malt it was still pretty bitter. Solid IPA. tomthompson89 (1454), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 2, 2009 Can gven to me at Half Pins brewing in Winnipeg. amberish color some foam nose is hops and some caremel malt well balanced. flavor is amazing hops but never overpowering. so so drinkable the malts keep it going . great beer could have had 10 tokyogoat (505), San Diego, California, USA Sep 1, 2009 Pours a golden amber with a nice small head.
Nose is smooth with caramel and grapefruit and citrus hops.
Taste is clean, sweet with caramel and toffee, plenty of c-hops, able to combat with the big sweet body quite well.
