zeke626 (301), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Aug 26, 2007 Can/draft. Pours an amber-red with eggshell colored head. Hoppy aroma has a very nice bouquet. Taste is initially strong hops with some pine and grapefruit. Decent medium body with not too much maltiness. Dry, hoppy finish. Syd (888), Waconia, Minnesota, USA Aug 25, 2007 Updated: Sep 26, 2007Can. Did I really just pour a can of beer and have it taste this good? Wow, the world has changed in the past 2 and a half years of not having any beer. Anyway, it poured a slighty hazy copper color with a nice hoppy aroma. The flavor and palate were what really threw me for the fact that it comes from a can. Hops and malt and nice rounded mouth feel. I like it. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 24, 2007 Thanks to Ian for smuggling this back from Sturgis. Pours out a beautiful copper color with a big white head. Big hoppy, pine, grapefruit aroma. Taste is a hoppy explosion with hints of grapefruit. There is a hint of malt that smooths this out really nice. Finishes nice and dry, an absolute classic. Beerlando (2283), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 24, 2007 Can from Brewso. Cloudy dark amber color. Nice off-white head that leaves fantastic sheets of lacing. The aroma is really nice, with caramel malts standing up well against strong orange hops. The flavor is intense but well balanced. There is a really luxurious caramel malt profile here, and every bit of it is needed to counteract intense orange and grapefruit hop bitterness. The body is quite substantial, and gets borderline sticky as it warms. The beer is smooth and drinkable, though the hops definitely let you know they are there, and they linger on the back of the tongue for quite a while. Very nice IPA! eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Aug 23, 2007 Updated: Sep 6, 2007Can from brewfiend, poured a deep amber to orange color, nice head, good lacing, true to style in appearance. Aroma was strong piney and citrus hops. Flavor is well suppported by a heavy malt profile, somewhat approaching an amber-red style IPA, strong caramel and orangey flavors, followed by a most assertive pine and citrus hop profile, finishing with even some floral notes. Bitterness lingers, one well-hopped IPA, fruity esters dangle around, playing games alongside the bitter hop finish. Mouthfeel is full bodied. A much enjoyed IPA alongside my favorite Stone IPA, but it didn’t beat out my favorite! Thanks for another nice one, Brad! Re-rate, 9/07: Again, a super nice IPA, very nicely done. Original rating stands. oh6gdx (8798), Vasa, Finland Aug 22, 2007 Canned. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is big fruity and flowery hops along with slight vanilla. Flavour is very much the same along with some grassy hints. Quite typical IPA. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Aug 19, 2007 12 oz can via skyview (thanks!). Pours a clear copper with a large beige head that leaves a LOT of spidery webbing as it slooowly recedes. Nose is very floral hoppy and piney. Taste starts very sweet caramel , then some orange, some fruity esters, and a pine wallop of a finish. Finish is bittersweet, but aftertaste is just dry mouthpuckering hoppiness as the sweetness is left to a distant memory. Body is perfect with a nice malt backbone that lets the hops take centerstage, carbonation just right. World class IPA! Guerde (693), Welcome, Minnesota, USA Aug 15, 2007 Pours a dark copper color with a cream colored head. Aroma was very citrusy with some orange, lemon, grapefruit and pineapple present. The flavor was initially malty with a lot of caramel, which gave way to some citrus and then a lingering bitter hop bite finish. Good stuff.
