Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

On tap at Mckenzies in Minneapolis. A large hop presense on the nose. A deep amber pour with a small tan head. A semi sweet start that quickly gives way to the flavor of hops. A bit of fruitiness eases through as well as an excellent bitter finish. Very smooth carbonation and mouthfeel. An ass kicker of an IPA that is smooth on the palate and hops are all over it. Very good beer.

Can from theisti, via Zinister. Thanks! Pours a rich amber and cheddar orange with a two-finger head. Intense pine and grapefruit in the nose. Flavor is pine resin, grapefruit, and more pine in the finish. Coats the tongue like Sherwin-Williams. This is a fantastic IPA. I MUST HAVE MORE!

Pours a very dark, burnt orange. Floral hop aroma with some mild malty/cookie notes. Mouthfeel is very full with some very slight stickiness. Hops are extremely dry. A very good, if challenging beer.

Canned. Pours deep copper with khaki head and a bit of lacing. Big spicey citrusy aroma of passionfruit, fresh oranges, strawberry and fresh flowers...all of this married with sweet and sticky caramel malt aroma. Flavor is resinous hoppiness with thick, sweet and slightly salty malt flavors. Behind the strong hoppiness I sense some cookie dough-ish malt flavors. Creamy, fluffy mouthfeel. Great palate. Dry and bitter finish. A glorious and intriguing IPA.

16oz. can. Strong aroma of fresh, citric hops, some orange and flowers in conjunction with lighter notes of red apple fruitiness, pine, toasted malts and touches of fresh wood and earthiness. Clear medium red-copper color with a very fine but lasting head leaving wisps of lacing behind. Flavor is rather easily dominated by the suitably aggressive hop character, which brings flavors of tangerine, pineapple and herbs to go along with the massive bitterness, and blended towards the middle with a darkly honeyish, toasty malt character. Sprucy, leafy, tangy and again very solidly bittering at the finish. Finely effervescent and lightly resinous, oily and drying mouthfeel with a medium body. This stuff just makes with the hops, and fast. Thanks a bunch to theisti!

16oz can-pours a foamy light tan head and red/amber color. Aroma is citrus/pine hops, medium malt. Taste is citrus/pine hops –some bitterness, secondary medium malt-caramel/brown sugar but not quite balanced. Further in and with food balance is better. Hops are dry and some spicing comes out. OK carbonation.

Can. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is lovely hoppy with notes of grapefruit and caramel. The flavor is sweet and extremely hoppy, that makes it very dry and grassy, combined with notes of pine needles and grapefruit. Thanks to yespr for bringing this to Denmark.

(Can 47,3 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Very piney nose. Medium body with lightly sweet caramel malt but otherwise dominated by the extremely dry aroma hops. Really dry as a bone - quinine-like. 290607
