PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Jun 22, 2009 Tap at ACBF 2009: Deep copper pour with a thick well retained dense tan head. Super resiny hop aroma with some mild peach and evident crystal malt. Fluffy carbonation- evident crystal malt in the flavor- hearty background with lots of piny spruce like character from the hops. Simple and straight forward but damn tasty. Saarlander (1577), Saarlouis, Germany Jun 21, 2009 Can via trade. Nice copper pour, thick head. Floral aroma. Flavor is nice, some piney hop, with a nice balance of malt, nothing is overdone with this one, good. SuIIy (1406), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Jun 17, 2009 16 oz can from Skinnyguy. Pours a dark, deep copper color with a white head. Nose is piney hops with a nice caramel and grapefruit hue. Palate is fairly thick and fluffy with a nice syrupy feel. Pours a medium copper color with a two finger thick beige head leaving some nice lacing. Nose of citrus, pine and resin with sweet malt balancing things out. Finishes medium in body and quite sticky. Overall a great IPA as expected. deyholla (506), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Jun 9, 2009 On tap. Poured a dark amber with a light brown head. Aroma is very hoppy, dominated by a piney aroma from the hops. Lots of hops, I detected a underlying fruity flavor. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jun 8, 2009 Hazy copper with a medium tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of Caramel, citrus and floral hops with a bit of pine. Nicely balanced flavor with some citrus and floral hops accentuated by some bready malt and caramel. Moderately bitter and abrasive but overall some pretty good stuff. tekhna (100), California, USA Jun 6, 2009 Updated: Sep 6, 2009Such a great beer. Amazing color, bracing bitterness with a full hop flavor without bothering to go into DIPA-land. Intense red, great head, smells lovely. Not too sweet, but really just sucks you in.
