The beer pours a hazy orange color with a medium thin light tan head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing. The aroma is mostly grapefruit with touches of pine and malt. Medium body with a lively mouthfeel and strong citrusy hops character. Notes of pine and sweet malt as well. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitterness. Not as complex as some IIPAs but I can respect the straightforward hoppyness. Glouglouburp (2881), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

How: 16 oz can thanks to the simultaneous generosity of mreush and Stine. Thanks guys
The look: Cloudy golden amber body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Nose of pine-tree and some oranges. Well malted body. Fruity rich sweet fruity cake malt profile. A truckload of hops that have both a resinous and a pine-cone juice flavour. Some orange peels too. Enjoyable smooth carbonation, almost cask-like. A tasty and very good IPA but not quite the kick-ass beer I was hoping for. Although I should specify that my can was probably 4 to 5 months old. I need a re-rate on a fresh can. And when I say I need a re-rate on a fresh can I don’t mean a re-rate sitting on a clean toilet. Pours a murky orange to copper color with off white head out of a 16oz can. Huge hop aroma of pine hop bitterness. It is simply a firm slap in the nose of citrus hops. The flavor is just like the aroma with just huge pine hop bitterness and not nearly as big grapefruit hop bitterness too. I can just sense a sweet maltiness way way in the back of the big pile of hops. Very nice true hop monster of a beer. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 6, 2008 Very dark amber with a soft off-white head. Big piney hop nose. Bitter right off the bat, spicy and hoppy throughout. Palate is run with carbonation, hops giving a resiny and oily quality. Defiantly bitter, unrelenting, and sharp, but if you take balance out of it, still enjoyable. after4ever (2828), Brier, Washington, USA

Pours murky dark brown with golden brown highlights and a thick, sudsy off-white head. Intermittent little puffs of cumulus lacing down the sides. Big piney nose with hints of sharp grapefruit zest. Medium body, active carb, very refreshing attack with plenty of toast and pine/fruit. Nice clean-drinking mid-palate and then a big wash of piney creosote resin across the back. Nice stuff, kinda harsh, bracingly refreshing. riversideAK (2799), Shoreline, Washington, USA

Amber color with great head, amazing lacing. Aroma is freaking amazing grapefruit and pine straight to the face. I almost can’t get over the aroma... Maybe I am fiending for more? Super bitter grapefruit and pine. Amazingly fruity too. A touch of toast. Creamy smooth mouth feel with a lingering resin coating in the mouth. One of the best IPA’s I have ever had! Check that; to me this might just be the best IPA I have ever enjoyed. Beershine (2754), Traipsing Around, Cambodia

Intense hoppy nose has hints of raspberry and other berries. Perfectly smooth, balanced character with woody finish. Scrumptious flavors bordering on perfection. Nice slippery mouthfeel. Absolutely lovely IPA! Suttree (2743), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Cloudy orange, with a nice loos foamy white head. Bitter and sweet are nicely blended throughout, with Piney, woodsy hop note playing off caramel malt notes. Really, really good. Thanks to Buckybeer for the trade!
