Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Can from theisti, via Zinister. Thanks! Pours a rich amber and cheddar orange with a two-finger head. Intense pine and grapefruit in the nose. Flavor is pine resin, grapefruit, and more pine in the finish. Coats the tongue like Sherwin-Williams. This is a fantastic IPA. I MUST HAVE MORE!

16 oz can, via joebrew. Pours a clear amber colored body under a creamy and foamy light beige head that left intricate fine lacing. Aroma is full of sweet malt and lots of piney citrusy hoppiness. Very clean and straightforward. Flavor is very bitter from front to back, lots of hops in the boil for this guy. A nice lingering piney finish. The malt has a minimal presence, just a little toasted note. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a moderate amount of fizzy carbonation and a slightly sticky resiny finish. Overall, a nice aggressively hopped IPA.

Tap at Acadia. Copper Coloring with Foamy Head. Big Hops on the Nose..Citrusy and Lightly Piney... On the Tongue it was more of the same, bitter and very dry hopped right off the Bat. Huge Hop Flavor with Very Light Malty Grain in the Background. She’s More then Furious! She the Answer to Hop Lovers’ Fantasies.

Can: Deep copper, fairly clear but with a few floaties about, large frothy sand colored head, very nice lacing.   Subtle caramel malts and hop oriented nose, slight citrus peel and tea leaves.   Stronger tea and citrus presense on the tongue.   Slight malt graininess as it warms, and nearing the backside.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Feels fairly smooth.   Lingering hop bitterness well after the finish.   Not nearly as potent as I would have thought for 100IBUs.   Only thing I wished is for it to be a bit more floral and without the subtle grainy bitterness on the finish.   Otherwise, quite good.   Thanks Joe for the brew!

big angry peaches in the aroma. Full malt keeps the powerful hop flavor from being overwhelming. Good.

16 ounce can courtesy of cdumler and shared by Alraomon. Pours a bronze color with a medium head. Good head retention and thick lacing. Huge hop aroma with resin, citrus and herbal notes. Also some slight caramel and a milky character. Taste is very bitter hops, very leafy and resiny with some pine notes as well. Creamy mouthfeel and full bodied. Very nice.

Can from brewfiend, poured a deep amber to orange color, nice head, good lacing, true to style in appearance. Aroma was strong piney and citrus hops. Flavor is well suppported by a heavy malt profile, somewhat approaching an amber-red style IPA, strong caramel and orangey flavors, followed by a most assertive pine and citrus hop profile, finishing with even some floral notes. Bitterness lingers, one well-hopped IPA, fruity esters dangle around, playing games alongside the bitter hop finish. Mouthfeel is full bodied. A much enjoyed IPA alongside my favorite Stone IPA, but it didn’t beat out my favorite! Thanks for another nice one, Brad! Re-rate, 9/07: Again, a super nice IPA, very nicely done. Original rating stands.

Can courtesy of Sammy: Poured a deep dark brown color ale with huge dirty white foamy head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of piney and citrus hops is huge and dominating the aroma. Taste is a mix between strong caramel and toffee malt with some sweetness balancing the strong piney and citrus hops. The ending is quite bitter as you can imagine but some subtle floral notes were providing more complexity which was appreciated. Body is full with some low filtration which was quite enjoyable.
