Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

C-Bus 7 Can shared by jsquire: Pours amber with a light tan head. Aroma loads of pine, caramel, citrus and earthy notes, I could smell this all day. Flavor, piny, earthy, a nice malty caramel background. Great bitter finish, this stuff was fantastic.

Pours a rich maroon color with a huge fluffy beige head that lasts and lasts. Smell is big on hops and a red ale like malt backing. Kind of reminds me of either Bear Republic Red Rocket or Hop Rod Rye. Very fresh smelling. Dark rich caramelly piney hops flavor with a moderate tea like hop bitterness . Very nice IPA that I like better after trying the 2nd time. Thanks Tyler and Andy!

On tap at Mckenzies in Minneapolis. A large hop presense on the nose. A deep amber pour with a small tan head. A semi sweet start that quickly gives way to the flavor of hops. A bit of fruitiness eases through as well as an excellent bitter finish. Very smooth carbonation and mouthfeel. An ass kicker of an IPA that is smooth on the palate and hops are all over it. Very good beer.

Kindly of Gunhaver. Magic in a can, amber pour , thin white head with a strong presence of hops. Beautifully balanced with the malt. A little fruity with some citrus.

16 oz. can courtesy of a trade with mashmaster. Pours a cloudy amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted until mid-glass and left a layer of foam with each sip. Strong aroma of pine, grapefruit and caramel. The flavor is similar, although it is more dominated by the pine and there is less of a caramel malt base than the aroma would suggest. Bitter hoppy finish. Truly a beer for the hopheads!

16 oz can from Stine. I was suprised this beer was so dark in color when I poured it- deep amber/brown in color with a medium off white head. Tons of citrus and some light floral hops in the aroma, with some molasses hanging around in the background. Taste- well this beer has a hefty malt backbone, but the taste is almost all citrus and floral hops, with notes of earth and wood- the malt does come through, and kind of muddles the hop character a bit. The bitterness is strong throughout and lingers nicely well after the finish. As much as I liked this, I probably would have liked it even more if they used some lighter malts. Thanks Eben!

RBSG 2007 Tour at Surly – Deep amber, thick creamy off white head. Hop forward nose of grapefruit, pine, and earth that relies on a soft toasted caramel malt backbone. Well bittered piney earth-like flavors are balanced with just touches of toasted sweet malt. Bitter from start to finish. Medium bodied with a pillow soft carbonation. Very nice session IPA
