Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Pours hazy and copper with off white head and nice lacing. Aroma of citrus and pine. Similar flavor throw in some caramel malts. Thanks Tytoanderso for this can!

RBSG 2007 Pub Crawl – Cask at the Happy Gnome. Clear copper with a small, bubbly white head. Grapefruit and earth nose, a touch of pine. Flavor is bitter citrus, herbal, earthy, bold but not sharp. Dry earthy herbal finish.

Re-rate. 16 oz can from UncleJedi - thanks! Gushed a bit... Hazy amber with a huge beige head that descends rockily. Earthy grapefruit nose, pine and caramel. Earthy hop flavors, lightly spicy, grapefruit and rich caramel. Herbal finish. Awesome rings of thick lace al the way to the bottom. Wonderful! Bumped from 3.8 to 4.

Amber body, tan head. Aroma is piney hops, caramel, nice hoppiness that fills the room. Taste is much like the aroma, with light dried fruits. Nice body.

Thanks to Dan for the can. Clear copper with a towering pillowy light tan head. Vey nice lace. The aroma is lightly citursy and piney. The flavor is pretty nice, hops are the dominate element, both in their flavor and bitterness. There is some nice sweetness that balances things well. Very nice palate, the bitterness sits well with the medium, a tad syrupy, body. Good stuff and I really like that more and more quality beers are being packaged in cans. I also like the fact that my little home brewery in college was named surly cat. brewing

Thanks a ton tytoanderso. Pours a rich ruddy orange amber with a thick two finger creamy light orange head. The aroma was thick citrusy hops, orange and grapefruit, sweet malts, pine, spicy hops. The flavor is full and hoppy, citrusy, waxy, sweet caramel, piney and spicy. The mouthfeel has no carbonation, weird it had plenty in the pour. Waxy finish.

Big thanks to mashmaster for that can. Looks not spectacular, the beer in the glass a bit darker than exspected, nice small head. Very hoppy-flowery aroma. Beer starts hoppy-fresh, flowery grasy. Very complex hoppy notes, not too dry. Modest bitter in the background. Also a bit fruity. Well balanced finish, very drinkable. A great beer!

Can sampled with Mad_indian, thanks to Faro99 for sending this to me. Pours clear mahogany with a short tan head. Aroma of caramel malts, citrus, and piney hops. The flavor is citrus, spices, and heavy bitterness upfront, mellowing out, and finishing dry.

16oz can, no date from hellomynameis, thanks Zac! Clear reddish orange with a one finger yellowish off-white head, good retention. Aroma of spicy pine and floral hops, moderate caramel malt sweetness and some grainy notes. Flavor is much the same, and despite the hops being pretty strong, the malt sweetness does a pretty good job at keeping the bitterness at bay--for a short while. Dry finish with bitterness sitting around a 7 that lingers. Medium body with creamy light to moderate carbonation. Very good beer.
