Pours a dark red-orange, lovely peach and pineapple nose that is complex, hoppy, and not overbearing. Great malt balance, warm and chewy, even some chocolate whispers in there, playing around in SN Celebration territory. My first time with this beer; it lives up to the hype. Great stuff! markwise (1187), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

Nose is floral hops with pine and citrus, sweet malt, caramel, and pine all come together in this whirlwind. Flavor is piney bite finishing with astringent citrus. Lots of Belgian lace on the glass. Finish lingers with astringent citrus. Medium-bodied mouthfeel to this interesting canned craft beer. GAManiac (1177), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Pours a bright hazy amber color with a big, thick two-finger head that hangs around for quite a while. Lacing is excellent. Smell is dominated by big floral and citrus hops dominated by grapefruit and lemon zest. Balanced out with a nice underlying malty sweetness. As in the smell, huge citrus hops up front balanced out by a bready malt flavor. Sweet caramel taste gives way to a piney hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Creamy mouthfeel coats the mouth in hoppy goodness but still stings the tongue with bitterness. Medium body with solid carbonation. This is one of the better IPAs I’ve tasted and would make this a staple in my fridge if I had access to it. Big and hoppy but with a nice malty balance, this one is quite nice. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 24, 2008 (Tap) Pours a nice amber color with a foamy white head. Strong aroma of piney hops and biscuit. Taste is also strong, but not as overpowering as I expected. Malty backbone includes plenty of biscuit, caramel, and toffee flavor. Hoppy grapefruit notes are pronounced, but but no means as strong as I expected. High drinkability, fine carbonation, balanced palate. A very good beer, but would have been even better with a little heavier of a body. jcr (1172), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 6, 2007 Hazy copper pour with small off-white head. Aroma leans toward the malts — toasted grain, — but is also moderately hoppy with notes of flowers, resin and grapefruit. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter and slightly acidic. The hops are more dominant in the flavor, presenting bitterness and flowers on top of the malt sweetness. Medium body and slightly sticky texture. Fairly good balance between malts and hops. glkaiser (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Thanks, Bri. Pours a clear amber with medium head that sticks around for a while. The aroma is pure citrus hops that don’t stop. The taste is dominated by citrus/nug hops, but there is a solid caramel malt backing that evens out the bitterness. This is my favorite type of IPA: one that gives you tons of hop taste, without overloading you with bitterness or sugary malts. It’s definitely a bit thin and could use some more body, but it’s tough to get a balanced session IPA with this many hops....and this one is. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 14, 2007 Updated: Jun 16, 2009Rating this again, as my original was way too old to reflect my love for this beer. Deep reddish copper pour with a nice, thick head. The aroma is a massive amount of pine and caramel malt. The carbonation is perfect, as is the body. Incredibly refreshing, crisp, biting hops dominate the flavor, with a rich malt complexity in the background. Fantastic IPA.
