Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Can via trade with mreusch. Incredibly darker than I was expecting. Burnt copper color with an ivory head. Big, citrusy hop aroma- short of lemony with a "toned down" grapefruit note. Grassy hop flavors. Sweetish caramel maltiness and More grapefruit and citrus hop notes in the flavor. Grainy, caramel malt flavors. I’d consider this a very "outside-the-box" IPA but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it. A very well made beer.

Can: Pours a creamy carmel with a smallish white head. The nose is hops and more hops - deep grapefruit and orange with some rind as well. A healthy dose of caramel backs the bitterness. Chewy mouthfeel. The hops take center stage again, but much brighter and defined. Fresh pressed OJ, sugary grapefruit and rose petals lead into a bitter, rindy finish. Another good one from Surly.

Can- Pours a hazy off brown copper color, small off white head. Nose is strong british malt, some american hops mix to add a distinct aroma. Some grapefruit and pine notes (simcoe?) More hops fill the body of the beer. Dry fruit citrus filled flavors.

Can, courtesy Guerde. Perfect pour: dark brownish red, big carbonated sparkling white head, and tons of dry, cotton-like lacing on the glass. Aroma is malty, but coated with citrus. Semi-sweet chocolate notes, too. Pine is masked by an overall balance. Hops hit the tongue first, and the malty body takes over soon after. A harmony of pine, citrus, mango, caramel, and vanilla. Medium-bodied. Sticky and refreshing. Easy to drink and extremely balanced.

16 oz can brought back from Minnesota by my dear friend Kathy. Pours a dark amber with a one finger white head. Interesting melange of hop aromas, some flowers, some grapefruit and a nice pine bite at the end. Hefty orange flavor with some lemon, grapefruit and pineapple behind it and a pine snap in the finish. The flavors linger for ages after the can is gone, which is good since I ran out of the stuff!

Zesty hops burst forth from the can. Oranges and pine are carried over a reddish amber, fairly flat ale. The hops are the shop here…lots of dusty dry bitterness. Lemon zinger is fairly prominent with a delicious puckering citrus at the swallow. The sweet malt gives enough of a platform to make this a delicious quaffer - not overly sweet or alcoholic. This is quite a pleasant hop bomb - and easy to quaff. Thanks Jeff.

Can from RagallachMC. Drank this as the Chargers laid down for the Patriots.Hazy amber/orange color with nice head. Pine and citrus aroma. The taste was surprisingly hoppy. The hops were nice and strong on the palate with a sharp bitter finish. Felt guilty drinking this out the can, but hey, that’s what it came in.

Rich red amber with a light tan head, relatively dense, thinning via popping largish bubbles. Grassy floral hops with a light fruity, toasty malty sweetness. Lively with a bit of chocolate? Full creamy mouth, average carbonation. Smooth. Big grassy peppery slightly piney hops. rich full sweet fruity malt. A touch of toast and caramel. Lingering floral to piney hop bitterness. Creamy, big ass hoppy beer.
