Jan 17, 2007 Updated: Jan 26, 2008Can from RagallachMC. Drank this as the Chargers laid down for the Patriots.Hazy amber/orange color with nice head. Pine and citrus aroma. The taste was surprisingly hoppy. The hops were nice and strong on the palate with a sharp bitter finish. Felt guilty drinking this out the can, but hey, that’s what it came in.

Sep 10, 2007 Rich red amber with a light tan head, relatively dense, thinning via popping largish bubbles. Grassy floral hops with a light fruity, toasty malty sweetness. Lively with a bit of chocolate? Full creamy mouth, average carbonation. Smooth. Big grassy peppery slightly piney hops. rich full sweet fruity malt. A touch of toast and caramel. Lingering floral to piney hop bitterness. Creamy, big ass hoppy beer.

Feb 23, 2008 draft at clark street alehouse. this was a breath of fresh air last night. the only good beer in a sea of... i dont know, something. anyways. orange/copper color with a nice off white head. intense aroma of grapefruit and citrus hops. taste is decently balanced, pretty damned bitter back end. no doubt it’s an IPA, and a massively hoppy one at that. why it was $6 for a snifter i don’t know. i’m pretty much just rating it so i don’t have zero ratings for february 2008

Aug 4, 2007 Can sampled with Steg. The first thing I thought was cans ? But this one was really good. Big hop aroma with a brown pour and off white head. Taste delivered a big hop presenc as well as pine and alcohol. Really good but not blended as good as it should have been.

Apr 2, 2008 1 pint can from a trade with mcbackus. a big thanks to matt for hooking me up with some surly. pours deep orangish/red with a mid sized tan head. darker then most IPA’s ive had. aromas are citrus hops, piney hops and caramel malts. flavours are sweet citrus and caramels initially but then the bigger hop varieties come in for a big bitter hop finish. very enjoyable. thanks again matt anytime you wanna send some surly my way im cool with that!

Jul 10, 2009 A nice late birthday present from beth- thanks a ton! pours copper with some nice red highlights. beige head. wow. nice juicy , citrusy hop aroma. some floral hops as well. pine. extremely well balanced. awesome.

May 12, 2009 Updated: Nov 25, 2009can poured an amber color with a thick foamy off white head that retained well. aroma has beautiful hop character with citrus, bitter and sweetness. has that sweet juicy fruit thing. mouth feel is medium with plenty of carbonation. flavor has more malt coming through, nice citrus, lightly bitter resins, and hefty sweetness. nicely balanced out proving strong flavors while still being easy to drink.

Oct 15, 2007 Can. Very murky orange-red with a small off white head. Rich candied citrus and fresh cut pine hop aromatics. Earthy, and citric/metallic hop flavors dominate. Sturdy caramel maltiness peers through resinous hoppiness. Fruity and floral hop flavors linger in the finish, with a bracing bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, rather dry.
