Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Can. Did I really just pour a can of beer and have it taste this good? Wow, the world has changed in the past 2 and a half years of not having any beer. Anyway, it poured a slighty hazy copper color with a nice hoppy aroma. The flavor and palate were what really threw me for the fact that it comes from a can. Hops and malt and nice rounded mouth feel. I like it.

Poured into a nonic. Very dark for an IPA, I’m expecting it to be malty. Head is tan and an inch tall. Lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is a blast of resiny, oily hops. Mainly pine, but some floralness too. I get a little sweet breadiness in the background as well. A blend of sweet caramel malt and pine-filled hops washes over the tongue, leaving behind a pointed hop bitterness that isn’t at all unpleasant. Less malty than the color would indicate, but still a nice balance here. Medium body, sticky and resiny from the hops, but the bitter finish is enticing.

Pours a nice hazy amber-copper with a thick off white head. Aroma is floral hop initially then pine, all backed by a toasty malt. Flavour carries the pine hop through a medium caramel malt body. Finishes dryish bitter. Very tasty.

growler from the brewery. Pours deep amber with a thin white head. Has a crazy hop and grapefruit presence in the nose. Flavor is just bursting with hoppy goodness, grapefruity bitter citrus, and pine. Finishes bitter and delicious. A very good IPA.

Can from Tyler! Big Head! Frosty white, three fingers worth. Beautiful dark red/amber color. Good lacing. Smell of citrus hops! Also the smell of malt. Taste is nice bitterness right off the bat. Yet it has a hidden sweetness and a smooth after taste. Taste is all HOPS. Tyler said it was the best beer/IPA out of a can and he was right. Really good IPA!!! Thanks TY for a great beer!

Special thanks to Beerlando for giving me this can. Wow, this is really a fantastic IPA. Pours a dark amber with an intense pine, vanilla and grapefruit nose. The white head sticks to the glass all the way down. The flavor remains true to the style and it has a substantial mouthfeel. Bitter grapefruit flavor with an incredible smoothness and drinkability. This is almost up there with Pliny the Elder for being one of my favorite IPAs. This is delicious.

16 oz can. Surly certainly has figured out the can gimmick, and they have taken it a step further by putting their beers in Tall Boys! This is another great example of a fresh, well balanced IPA. Certainly an up and coming Brewery.

Wow. Good beer in a can. That’s a first. Pours a hazy copper with minimal head. Flavor has notes of banana, as well as grassy hops. Somewhat spicy and piney - but not overly so. A good IPA - still strange to think this came in a can though. FRESH: This stuff is even more amazing! Bumping this up a notch, as it has some nice dank notes in it.
