Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Poured a dark amber. Aroma was malty, but very nicely hopped up in citrus and pine. Taste followed suit. Appearance of head is just awesome- rocky and creamy. Very quality brew in execution, finish is malty and somewhat juicy hop with a slight note of alcohol. Very solid.

Holy hops batman! Nice grapefruit and citrus aroma. Too much bitternes for me, but very nice flavor. Some maltiness hiding in the background.

Sampled at Chris_o’s shindig: great grapefruit and pine hoppiness; somewhat thick, chewy and underattenuated, but quite bitter finish; lingering and overly sharp.

Reddish colour with large eggshell head on top. The head colapses after a few minutes into a coating on top with extra clinging to the sides of the glass. It feels like I opened a fresh bag of hops when I stick my nose into the glass. Very grassy with some grapefruit and cirtus. The body is right in the middle, not thick and sticky, and could never be confused with being thin. The taste is big! Hops dominate the flavour with a big upfront slap of slightly bitter and hugely citrus hops. It’s like hop juice was poured into this to get this amount of hops. The amazing thing is that this balances out with a great malty aftertaste. The hop flavours remina, but that balance is essential and tames the hops down a bit. It’s amazing that they are able to acheive this balance. 9/4/7/3/16-3.9 Copper colouring with a foamy tall head. Aroma is mostly floral hops, maybe some citrus in there as well. Mostly bitter hops taste that’s not very well balanced out by the malts. 7/3/4/3/11-2.8

On Tap @ Binny’s South Loop. Really enjoyable. Pour quite a dark amber glowing color, almost brown. Head is creamy and light tan in color, lots of beutiful lace. Malty, grapefruit, caramel, toffee, lots of piney hops, bitter, citrus, and very well balanced. Slightly earthy and a nice creamy mouthfeel. Very good, enjoyed every moment of this wouderfully crafted beer.

On tap. Aroma: Extremely hoppy. Tons of fruity and citrus notes. Slightly spicy with some apricot and malt. Appearance: Brown and cloudy amber with a small white head that remains pretty lacy. Flavor: Tons of citrus hops. Loads of really good malt and bitter fruit. Palate: Medium body with a very pleasant coating of the mouth. Pretty creamy. Overall: Very good beer. Extremely bitter and hoppy, but an awesome balance with the malt. Great lingering aftertaste. If this was any more than 6%ABV it would probably screw up the nice balance.

gigantic sized grapefruit citrusy hop with some pinecone bitterness tagging along. not as much malt flavors as I approve and not enough juicy ftuitness to justify the extreme bitterness but a solid drinking potent bitter ipa.
