| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Can thanks to mashmaster. Pours a fairly dark copper color, hazy with a nice white head on top. Aroma is pleasant American hops of the citrus variety, Amarillo and/or Centennial perhaps. Some fairly strong malt notes are present in the background. Flavor is mildly malty, not sweet or dry, a little watery. Easy drinking. This beer reminds me of a slightly more citrusy Dale’s Pale Ale. Another good Surly beer but I don’t think this can dethrone Two Hearted from its spot as best Midwest IPA. fiver29 (726), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Can pours a hazy dark amber/red color with a thick off white head. Has a sweet caramel pine smell. It blends together nicely. Has a medium mouthfeel. Tastes like sweet caramel candy, pine, and has a nice sticky hop aftertaste. Overall I really like this beer and would have it on hand for trips all the time because of the can. stobbe74 (714), Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 6, 2009 Can, 16 fl. oz. Pours a brown beer with offwhite head. The aroma is hops (citrus and some orange), with slight notes of peach. The flavor is likewise hoppy with fruits. The palate is pleasant bitterness, and this is overall a good IPA. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 15, 2007 Pours a dark copper color with a cream colored head. Aroma was very citrusy with some orange, lemon, grapefruit and pineapple present. The flavor was initially malty with a lot of caramel, which gave way to some citrus and then a lingering bitter hop bite finish. Good stuff. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA

| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 16, 2008 A lovely treat, shared by DrBayern (much mahalo Matt!). Poured from 16 oz can a coppery hue with a slightly off white foamy head. Aroma was of heaven, piny hop goodness, citrus mango and Scottish field grass. Flavour was of a truly remarkable beer, folks, the hype is true about this beer, it is simply a gift from God and should be consumed with much reverence. This is THE pinnacle of IPA beer, as a lover of IPA’s, I feel lucky to have experienced it. I WANT MORE... miketd (684), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 31, 2007 Thanks to Boboski for this.(I think) Pour is copper/brown with a creamy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is pine, citrus, floral and sweet malts. Nice initial bitterness with nice malt balance. Finishes with a good malt roasty flavor. Also a bit earthy and nutty. Nice creamy and medium/full mouthfeel. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 8, 2008 The color was dark amber/orange. The head was creamy, thick, frothy, off-white, and laced. The aroma was citris, apricot, pine, spicey, and slight aged fruit. The flavor was pice, citris, waxy/bitter, and apricot. The palate was average. The finish was waxy. I was surprised that this was an ipa and not a double. The palate was really the only thing that seemed like a typical ipa characterisitc.
