The aroma was citris, apricot, pine, spicey, and slight aged fruit. The flavor was pice, citris, waxy/bitter, and apricot. The palate was average. The finish was waxy. I was surprised that this was an ipa and not a double. The palate was really the only thing that seemed like a typical ipa characterisitc. juiceisloose (671), Windermere, Florida, USA

Pours a dark amber color with a huge, pillowy off white head that slowly recedes and leaves sheets of lacing behind. The aroma shows a good dose of caramel malts with some citrus and grapefruit hops as well. The flavor folloows with the orange and grapefruit hops up front and then quickly balanced out by the big caramel malt backbone. It is not as hoppy as I was expecting, but a great flavor. A very substantial body for an IPA, but is very smooth and easy to drink. Finishes sweet with some hop bitterness on the backend. I love the way this one tastes, but I would love to try a fresh can as I think mine had lost its bite. Nice IPA. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA

You are correct. It doesn’t compare. It is actually better than many bottled IPA’s. Aroma and flavor is full and rich hops and malts. Pours a dark amber with a nice sized head. Pine, pineapple, big hops and big malts. A sticky brew and I loved it. One last thing.... Did I mention anything about BIG HOPS!!!!!!! It is like my nose was smashed into a pine tree!!!! Actually Omar was great to us at RBSG 2007. Clear ice tea color, smooth frothy head. Citrusy in the nose, piney in the taste. A nice hoppy drink. MaltOMeal (653), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

This pours a dark copper color with thin tan head. Strong smell of pine and grass. Taste was strong hops with a peachy taste. Mouthfeel was thick and very bitter. Definitely out of balance, if you like that. Could have used more sweet malt to offset the bitterness.
