| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2006 Tap at Acadia Cafe. Dark red/copper color with a medium head. Strong piney hop aroma. More piles of pine for the taste with some more citrusy notes on the finish. A little grain in the background which makes a nice, albeit small, counterbalance to the hops. A little overboard on the hops for me, but a good IPA (an amber this can not be). rickgordon (3340), Göteborg, Sweden

Redish colour, average sized head. Lots of grapey, piney hops in aroma along with black tea, with solid malts backing it up. Caramelly, toffeeish maltiness is sensed, but most dominant are the hops here, with grapes and mandarines. Bitterness comes early and is pretty edgy, salty. Spiderweb bitterness. Pretty light odied at this abv-level, would gain from more maltiness in body. Long, long bitterness. ratman197 (3266), Arvada, Colorado, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 25, 2007 Can shared with and courtesy of HogTownHarry. I’m pretty excited about this one, thanks for sharing Harry! Pours a slightly cloudy amber-orange with an average size diminishing off-white head. Aroma: Oh fuck yeah, that smells so good! Lots of pine and citrus hops nicely backed by caramel malt, it’s pretty much as good as an IPA can smell. Flavour’s no slouch either, it follows the aroma with lots of pine and citrus hops and just enough malt backing it up, some fruit, a hint of spices and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Wow, there’s no question this is the best IPA in a can I’ve had yet and one of the best IPAs I’ve had period. More please! TomDecapolis (3218), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of grapefruit, orange, great fresh hop aroma, caramel malt balance. Flavor of grapefruit, caramel malt balance followed by a great hop bitterness on the back of the tongue. Rather light body, but with a full assault of the hops. More a showcase for the hops, the maltiness underneath does not stand a chance in this duel!
