Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Thanks to Brewblackhole for this one! Pours a dark amber color with a off white head that lasts a long time. Huge hop/ malt aroma is the first thing I noticed! Wonderful caramel malts and citrus hop bombard your tongue. A wonderful bitter finish.Man, I cant believe this is from a can! Awesome!

A lovely treat, shared by DrBayern (much mahalo Matt!). Poured from 16 oz can a coppery hue with a slightly off white foamy head. Aroma was of heaven, piny hop goodness, citrus mango and Scottish field grass. Flavour was of a truly remarkable beer, folks, the hype is true about this beer, it is simply a gift from God and should be consumed with much reverence. This is THE pinnacle of IPA beer, as a lover of IPA’s, I feel lucky to have experienced it. I WANT MORE...

Honestly, my favorite beer...my deserted island beer. Pours a reddish hue, with tons of frothy head. Vigorous lacing clings to the glass. It has intense aromas of serious grapefruit, spice, citrus, and pine. The flavors are unbelievablely balanced, even in this unbalanced IPA, showing a strong malty forefront which melds well with the intense hop backbone...just the perfect amount of malty sweetness presence. The finish seems to last minutes on the palate, as the sting of your tongue gently fades...not to mention, it’s only 6% abv, which is a feat in itself to have so much complexity in such a small abv.

I was a bit skeptical of this product as it comes in a can. But persistent urging from a buddy persuaded me to give it a try. As I poured I found this ale to be a deep, cloudy-amber in color, with a nice thick soft looking beige foam that made up its medium head. This is an eye-catching brew. It has a mild hoppy floral aroma with fruity notes. Unlike the aroma, the excellent full favors of this IPA come storming in on the taste buds, a nice balance of bitterness and body. The mouth feel is creamy, supple, silky, and full. The finish is long and lingering leaving beautiful lacing behind. This is a most excellent IPA and the best I have presently tasted.

What a wonderful wonderful beer! I’ve just gotten turned on to IPAs lately and after one of these on tap I’m hooked! Smell and look...both heavenly. Tasted just like a hopper should - a perfect blend of hops with hints of citrus. Perfect finish and very refreshing. And the best part it is (which I did not know at the time of sampling) was they are a 10 minute drive from me. Soooooo happy!

Wow I was very impressed by this, couldnt wait to try it. Very very hoppy, and I was surprised to see the ABV was so low. Had a bit of thickness that carried a good head. Alpha King should be sweating, if this was more available in chicago it may become my favorite out there.
