Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Can, courtesy of hellomynameis (thanks!), pours a cloudy dark amber with a frothy tan head, good lacing. Aroma of pine, citrus, and just a bit of floral and caramel. Taste is a nice bitter hops bite that lingers, with the addition of some grass flavor. Palate is clean, crisp and medium carbonation. Overall, a very nice IPA that would be in regular rotation if I could get it locally.

Can sampled at BCTC 2008. Pours a clear orange amber with a bubbly white head. Aroma of pine and earth, actually very reminiscent of a christmas tree. Flavor is spot on from the aroma with lots of piney hops and earth notes with some caramel malt moving into the mix as well. This was one fantastic beer and to think that it was moving from warm to hot when I finally tried it makes me wonder how awesome it will be served cold to cool.

The color was dark amber/orange. The head was creamy, thick, frothy, off-white, and laced. The aroma was citris, apricot, pine, spicey, and slight aged fruit. The flavor was pice, citris, waxy/bitter, and apricot. The palate was average. The finish was waxy. I was surprised that this was an ipa and not a double. The palate was really the only thing that seemed like a typical ipa characterisitc.

Via trade with Cryotek. Pours a dark cloudy copper color with a large white head. Aroma is mostly citrus and hop. Overwhelming hints of bitter hops, citrus fruits, crisp spices, real malty. Finishes thick and creamy, with a bitter finish.

16 oz. can - thanks to biegman for the trade; pours dark amber with spotty white head; slight haze throughout; a rich, malty beast w/ bitter, dank citrus aromas; rich and creamy with a ton of body; hops are muted (in a good way) with the thick, juicy malts; a great IPA

Pours a deep copper with a modest head. Aroma is fainter than I’d expect considering the taste. This beer bursts with flavor and while it is quite hoppy, there is not excessive bitterness.

16 oz. can. Nice deep golden apperance...nose is mostly piney hops and caramel. This thing has got the perfect balance goin on. Superb flavor and mixture of hops/malts - with a nice soft carbonation. Perfect for sipping or a pounding session. This thing is exploding with flavor for being 6%. Wish I could try this off tap - which I hear is a lot better. Nice one!
