Aroma is sweet fresh hops, like hops added to boiling wort. I’m not normally a fan of hop monster beers, but there is something differnt going on here. Has all of the good citrus and piney hop flavors and plenty of bitterness, but somehow seems tolerable at 100 IBU’s. The hop flavor is so fresh and the malt somehow seems to balance the whole deal somehow. Not an everyday beer for my palate, but surprisingly enjoyable. Flavor is nice, some piney hop, with a nice balance of malt, nothing is overdone with this one, good. TChrome (1303), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 25, 2006 Beer pours an attractive amber color with a big totally retained off white head. Heavy lacing with this one. Aroma is big hoppy, very fresh hop aroma with nice juiciness. A little cereal aroma also. Flavor is straightforward hoppy goodness, though just a bit of a let down relative to the aroma. Hoppy goodness none the less. Palate is smooth and oily. bierkoning (6103), La Tropica, Netherlands

Piney and oily hops, challenged by tangerine and loads of pineapple. Long aftertaste. Excellent! heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 13, 2007 From a can, thanks badbeer and Erdinger2003. Medium red body with a khaki colored head. Lots of grapefruit and toffee in the aroma. The aroma is massive and fresh. The taste has some very nice grapefruit rind and some slightly burnt toast crust. The finish is bitter and clean. Nicely done. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2007 Nice red-amber body with a frothy beige head. Complimentary blend of spicy hops, toast and caramel malt in the aroma. Big flavor with more toasty, sweet malt and aggressive hop flavors and bitterness. Has a note of rye-like grain. This is like a Big Red Ale and I’m a sucker for those when they’re well-made. Thanks to allendodd for another one in my cooler at BCTC. presario (3010), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 23, 2009 In trade with noncaloric. Thick head. Red-amber beer. Delicious citrus alcohol aroma with hints of caramel, makes me think of a rye IPA. Thinner than expected body for high IBU. Aggressive and tasty citrus edge. An extreme beer, not your everyday pint. rickgordon (3341), Göteborg, Sweden

Redish colour, average sized head. Lots of grapey, piney hops in aroma along with black tea, with solid malts backing it up. Caramelly, toffeeish maltiness is sensed, but most dominant are the hops here, with grapes and mandarines. Bitterness comes early and is pretty edgy, salty. Spiderweb bitterness. Pretty light odied at this abv-level, would gain from more maltiness in body. Long, long bitterness.
