Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

1 liter on tap. Dark, rich, Rosewood color with minimal head. Very interesting color for an IPA. Booming complex fresh hop aroma. Very oily hop resins, almost soap like but in the most appealing way. Medium malt richness gives way to a matrix of hop flavors. This beer oh so very hoppy but delicately balanced. The finish keeps reminding you of what you just drank. This rings in at over 100 IBUs but in no way does it make you pucker because the bitterness is so fresh, oily and resiny. I choose this over two hearted any day.

On tap at Jerry’s. Hazy caramel with big, foamy tan head / Nose of fresh hops and caramel / Light body with pronounced hops over decent malts, and good, sharp finish / Flavors of fresh cut pine, peaches, resin, and caramel / Excellent in a lighter style.

16 ounce can courtesy of cdumler and shared by Alraomon. Pours a bronze color with a medium head. Good head retention and thick lacing. Huge hop aroma with resin, citrus and herbal notes. Also some slight caramel and a milky character. Taste is very bitter hops, very leafy and resiny with some pine notes as well. Creamy mouthfeel and full bodied. Very nice.

1 pint can from a trade with mcbackus. a big thanks to matt for hooking me up with some surly. pours deep orangish/red with a mid sized tan head. darker then most IPA’s ive had. aromas are citrus hops, piney hops and caramel malts. flavours are sweet citrus and caramels initially but then the bigger hop varieties come in for a big bitter hop finish. very enjoyable. thanks again matt anytime you wanna send some surly my way im cool with that!

Wow I popped open the can (thanks MuenchenerKindl ) and the floral aroma just filled the room poured into my pint glass a nice cloudy orange brown with a full two fingers worth of head The flavors in this one really surprised me it was nicely balance for an IPA the sweetness of the malts start off then the hops, pine, citrus, kicks in Wonderful mouth feel creamy start, nice and crisp finish. what I want in an IPA I drink more if I can find more up here in the frozen north. Definitely the best beer I had from a can

Pours a deep ruby orange with a good 3 fingers of ivory head that dies slower than normal and laces nicely. This already looks like a knockout. The smell blows my mind. Yes it smacks you with intense hops but the variety is wonderfully noticable along with very intense citrus. Piney, fresh grass and a hint of malt. This is not your average IPA. The taste makes my lower lip quiver and brings a tear to my eye. So many intense hops, citrus, grapefruit, some awesome malty balance with a bitter finish of perfection. Feels crisp and medium in the mouth wih perfect carbonation and has the drinkibility of an ultimate session beer. This brew smashes the IPA mold, a feat in itself, and opens my eyes to what a great beer is compared to a good beer. Minnesota BA’s will be recieving a lot of mail from me in the future. This is a classic.

Holy crap! This beer is awesome! It’s bright red with a full head and just loaded with hops. Not an everyday beer, but always enjoyable.

One of the best brews I have had in a good while. Pours an orangish yellow with a nice frothy white head that leaves moderate lace on the glass. Smells nice and hoppy, lots of citrus, oranges and maybe some grapefruit. A little grassy as well. Tastes of hops and citrus. Orange peels and grass. Smooth but bitter. Not too bitter but just bitter enough to be awesome. I can’t believe this beer came from a can. Good carbonation. 6.2% no problem. Love it.
