Sweet lightly toasted aroma. Bright gold, sticky head, great lacing. Nice and crisp, little grassy and somewhat metallic. I could drink this beer all night, quite the statement from me.

11/04/2009: Surly Hell... Aroma: Lightly fruity (pear) and lighty yeasty/mustiness. Appearance: Looks like a typical macro lager - pale straw color; transparent; white head; finely detailed lacing. Flavor: Toasted malts; wheat bread crust; delicate yeastiness; mild bitterness with a nice spicy/grassy noble hop bite; crisp finish. Palate: Medium-light; good mouthfeel; fairly smooth. Overall: Really nicely done Helles bier; very sessionable.

On tap at the Bavarian Lodge, Lisle,IL. and dispensed to a BL shaker with a light golden hue, a modest, white, bubbly head and etched-like, clingy lacing on the glass. The nose was distinctive Pils malt, with light grain, and a hint of lemon grass. The flavor added light hop spice, mellow bitterness and a pleasant dryness. Crisp, clean, and very sessionable.

On tap at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL. This one poured with a lighter standard white pour, light-medium body, and golden orange color. Overall, a very nice balanced and solid crisp feel to this beer. Everything went down quite pleasantly, and it made for a darn good experience because of its drinkability and subtle uniqueness. It had an interesting combination of notes on both aroma and flavor of bread, amber grains, zesty citrus, and pilsner grass. A very nice lighter beer.

Brewed in the USA... Courtesy of Dan from B.A. thanks again !!! Pours a pale golden color with a thin white head and some mild carbonation. Aroma of grains, malts and yeast. Taste of citrus, grains, bread, malts and spicy notes. Mouthfeel is medium in body with a crisp malty backbone that finishes sweet and dry. Overall, extremely drinkable !! Even German mothers enjoy this one. LOL.

Can shared by Dan (FooFaa) at the Beer Advocate - Brass Rail tasting. Poured clear gold with a bright white head. The smell was very malty with some cracker and bread notes and a liberal amount of noble hop spiciness. The flavor was slightly sweet cracker and lots of yummy noble hops. It reminded me a lot of Sly Fox Pikeland Pils (which is a good thing). Much hoppier than any other Helles style beer that I have had, not that that is a bad thing.

Can shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate dough yeast and pils malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth dry texture and soft carbonation. Medium doughy sweet flavor with a medium bitterswwet finish of moderate duration. Good above average beer.
