BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Oct 7, 2008 abr 2008. A hazy gold color with a definite oak funk and sour cranberry aroma. The thick body of the saison matched well with the saison body. JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Oct 3, 2008 ABR, 2008. Light red/amber color. Aroma has malt, some fruit. Underlying spice and mild cranberry flavor. It is drier than the original cynic, just a little sourness. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Sep 29, 2008 First beer sampled at the ABR ’08 in Minneapolis. On draught, pours a hazy orange amber with a fast dissolving off white head that quickly dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of the typical CynicAle which has some multi-tropical fruits of peach and apricots, some light yeast, golden grain malt and some coriander. The cranberry is a little hidden in the aroma. Taste is medium boded, a little more tart than the regular CynicAle with some yeast, apricots, and coriander with tart cranberries. Finish is when the cranberry character really comes out that compliments the dry and lightly tart CynicAle flavor. An interesting fruit infused mild saison. Happy to have tried it. akevitt (97), Valhalla, Minnesota, USA Sep 28, 2008 On draught at ABR ’08. The beer was hazy gold-orange. The aroma and flavor was similar to the Oak Aged CynicAle with a little extra cranberry tartness. Subtle cranberry/oak finish. I hope they bring this one out again!
