Sampled at FoBAB 09. Pours a murky brown with some head. Aroma of chocolate, fruit, and oak. Cranberries come out in the flavor, along with vanilla notes from the oak. Pretty dry for a fruit beer. The oak definitely works well here. This beer is like that scene in The Departed where Leonardo Dicaprio orders a cranberry juice at a bar.

On tap at the Great Taste of the Midwest (8/9/08): Pours a mostly opaque dark mahogany with a well-lacing froth of creamy tan head. Aroma of sweet toasty caramel and light fruits with a touch of woody oak. Body starts fairly full and semi-sweet with a tart fruity cranberry balance before a drier oaky tart finish. A pretty interesting fruit beer.

FoBAB 2008. Dark brown with small brown head Aroma is noticabley woody with chocolate, roast, subtle sweetness and coffee. Flavor is much the same with some darker fruits and dryer than it smells. Medium body with light carbonation. Very nice.

FoBAB 2008. Poured a dark brown color with a light brown head. My first impression of the aroma was strange. I smelled distinct Asian beetle/lady bug. That smell you get on your fingers if you so much as touch one of the little buggers. I also got nondescript fruits, wood, and a bit of alcohol. Light to medium bodied with lots of wood flavor. When I say lots, I mean like chewing a two by four. A cedar two by four. Very distinct cedar. In addition to the wood I also tasted some tart berry. I thought this relatively delicate beer was overpowered by the wood.

FoBAB 2008 offering: #719 - It seems we have settled on this listing for this particular beer, dubbed "Cherry Two" at FoBAB. Poured a dark brown-black hue, with a sizable brown head that sticks around. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, roasty malts, wood, and light fruitiness. Taste is different in proportion: a bit of interesting tart sour tucked into darker malts, chocolate, and wood. Finishes dry. Largely, a very enjoyable combination of cranberries and chocolatey oakiness. Cherries sweeten the brew a touch, possibly taking away some of the cranberry. Overall, largely malty and oaky. The fruit adds a special touch, though. Cheers!

Well, Im following suit. "Cherry Two" at Fobab VI. Pours a very pretty brown-black. Nose is fruit and tart, cherries really jumping out. Nice and rich mouthfeel, tart cherries and additional acid from the cranberries wrapped in Chocolate. A very drinkable beer with plenty to keep it interesting. Id assume that this is much superior to regular Two, as it is pretty well panned. Very nice.

Dark brown with brown head. Smells like charred wood. Just a bit of fruit. Mostly oak and chocolate. Finish is dry and ashy.
