Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt - lending it a slight acidity, but also with hints of smoke. The flavor is both has sweet and hard roasted malt notes - again the hard roasted malt lends it a slight acidity, while the alcohol tickles the tongue slightly, before a very dry and slightly roasted finish sets in.

500 ml bottle. Big fluffy espresso head. Near translucent, dark brown to near black body. Dry roasty aroma. Dark malts, cocoa, chocolate and dark dried fruits. Taste is dark, sweet chocolate, cocoa, a well prononced bitterness and lots of roast. Near full-bodied, still easy drinking. Malty-bitter chocolate ending. Yum!

Bottle at Århus Ølfestival 2008. Pours black with red edges and a small brownish head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt. Flavour of dark chocolate and roasted malt.

Big dark brown lasting head. Opaque black body goes dark red at edges. Sugary roasty milky chocolatey aroma with wooden notes. Dry-sweet dark chocolatey roasty taste with licorice notes. Feels surprisingly light. Mid-bodied. Dry coffeeish roasty laquer and burnt wood aftertaste. Leaves sticky sugar on the lips. Very good, and dangerously easy to drink. (0.5l bottle from Ole_R.)

Clear dark black color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, moderate chocolate and coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - smooth, carbonation is soft. (120508)
