Mads Langtved (2246), København K, Denmark Sep 16, 2002 Damn good beer, you can taste the island of Bornholm (the taste of herring) in the beer, wonderful. A quite unique bitter finish, with a touch of caramel! austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Jul 17, 2005 Enjoyed at a street cafe in Roskilde. Absolutely lovely! Lots of floaties in the glass and an odd malt flavor that was engaging. No hops whatsoever - yeah! Rather sweet. Love_Caissa (873), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 9, 2002 Updated: Apr 26, 2006Wow! This truly is an amazing beer. Beautiful chestnut brown colour, albeit with a quickly diminishing head. Aroma and flavour compliment each other in a very complex and wonderful way: malts, caramel, cappuccino, nuts, etc. All this along with a strange, but pleasant sensation of the Baltic Sea (the sea that surrounds the island of Bornholm) - don’t know how else to describe it?!? The finish is round and medium bitter. I believe this is the best bottom fermentation beer I have ever tasted! raindog (525), Evansville, Indiana, USA Feb 25, 2004 Bottle,Thanks Mads: Oarnge/brown with streaming carbonation, bottle conditioned. Thick, creamy, head. Aroma is very grainy...malty,slightly fruity, nutty. Palate is like velvet, with a touch of carbonation.Fairly big body. Delicious, malt flavors.Lots of bread, tobacco, fruit, toffee, nuts. Very fresh tasting. Finish is more clean malts(bready, sweet) with no real hop presence. Extremely tasty beer! DonPedro (2), Denmark does not count Jan 26, 2007 Its a great beer - especially with smoked heering a la "Sol over Gudhjem"
