jspruit (87), Dublin, Ireland Feb 10, 2008 Got this bottle right from the Svaneke brewery while in Bornholm this summer and drank at home in Ireland.
Poured very cloudy and orangey hazy amber in color with a 1 finger off-white head that settled down to a ring that lasted throughout the drink.
Aroma is nice and pleasant but nothing too exciting-mostly yeasty and not with the amount of cloves and banana that usually accompanies this style.
Tastes better than it smells and the citrus and fruity hints are allowed to come up with the wheat and sweet hints. Not too heavy with medium carbonation that goes down easy, but not too filling.
I was actually hoping for a bit more from this beer. You can drink plenty in one session if you would like, but I think that there are better weiss offerings out there.
Grovlam (3198), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 22, 2007 Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Average thick off-white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Hazy golden / amber color. Aroma was dominated by yeast, with notes of wheat, fruit and hint of citrus and banana. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Light sweet and hint of acidic flavor. Light sweet and yeast like finish. A bit to on dimensional for my taste. Enjoyit (1105), Vadum, Denmark Oct 21, 2007 Hazy orange of color with a beige head. An aroma of wheat, hints of banana. A flavor with weak notes of wheat and hints of banana. charlotte (1283), Vanløse, Denmark Oct 15, 2007 Hazy orange colour with medium head.Aroma of toffee and sweet caramel mild and smooth wheat beer.A bit sour finish. estoves2 (98), Sweden Jul 2, 2007 Nice big fizzy white head. The head disapeared rather quikly. The aroma is mostly citrus. The flavor is also mostly citrus, i couldnt identify any other flavors. Watery texture and fizzy carbonation, feels nice in the mouth. I didnt feel any bitternes in the beer, but there was som in the aftertaste.
