bhensonb (2687), Woodland, California, USA May 9, 2008 500 ml bottle from Total Wine in Roseville. Strange scent of veg? Brassy golden color with a white head that came and left. Medium body with coarse, but creamy carbonation. Flavor is malt, herb? and a strong amount of bitter for a pale lager. Must be a mysterious version of noble hop - herb/veg. The bitter builds with time, and that tends to salvage what otherwise would be just another Euro pale lager. This one is worth the drinking to see where hop and balance can go. Rather clean, almost crisp. The flavor improves with consumption. At half bottle, it’s really fairly tasty.
EFC1878 (33), Manchester, England Jul 7, 2008 Pours from the bottle a gorgeous pale gold colour with a perfect white head. Malt aroma with the alcohol also coming through. Good body and mouth feel - slight graininess helps. Crisp finish makes this possibly the ideal summer beer. Not the greatest beer by any stretch but, taken for what it is, there’s a lot to recommend it. Each to his/her own but I can’t understand the consistent low ratings for this way above average beer. Shannon127 (10), USA Jul 3, 2008 This is a fairly good pale lager, if that is what you like. That is not my favorite style, so I will try to be objective. It is a very light beer by European standards, but much fuller than Miller or Bud. It is not nearly as hoppy as the pilseners. This would make a great picnic beer. sir_Pino (251), Zawiercie / Żywiec, Poland Jun 29, 2008 No 237

Bottle greenish brown, 500 ml
Appearance: Head is foamy to frothy, quite big initially with the regular structure, than the head decreases slowly to a minimum but leaves fair lacing what is quite surprising. Body colour is bright, like golden, clear, reminding piss, well filtered, light, transparent, yelowish.
Aroma: Accidic, chalky, very chalky one, some hints of hops and seasam what is probably reasoned by rice content (rice is not felt though), generally aroma is very weak and nothing extraordinary, (some hints os piss additionallya)
Flavour: Flavour is very, very dry, really, that is almost a pilsener, totally no addition of sugar, a bit wattery, some hints of rice are present in the bitterness, grapefruit, seeds, very deep bitterness. I’ve never drunk such a bitter and dry beer. Chalky and bisquity, piss, accidic, dull, refreshing, a bit hoppy, water is of good quality, very soft and apropriate for a pilsener type of beer. Quite well balanced flavour between malted barley and fresh hoppyness at finish. Finish duration is average.
Palate: Body is light, texture is very dry, carbonation on palte is soft, ginish feel is chalky, dull, dry.
