Low carbonization. Very drinkable. I want to try next time with oysters. DavefromChicago (201), Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 8, 2003 Pours a headless black, but not the sludge-like consistency of Imperial stouts. Oddly, the first smell I note is apples, also mild English hops and very roasty malt. I don’t find the nose up to some of the prior reviewers. I could swear though, that there is a sea breeze in the bottle. Very thin body and flavor. Mostly sweet and roasty, but watered down, somehow. Finish is almost stark, dry and without alot of character. This is a very drinkable, fruity stout, suitable as n accompaniment to meals, but overall, unremarkable. I think SilkTork has stock in the brewery... Sickboy282 (1100), San Diego, California, USA

Very light, without a bite. RichardGretton (3154), Leicestershire, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 26, 2002 Flat looking beer with a very very deep coffee aroma. The flavour is very bitter coffee but with very little else which was a disappointment. A pleasant enough beer but not as good as the Irish stout’s. baobubba (449), Corvallis, Oregon, USA

Pours dark brown in color with just a couple of bubbles for head. Very chocolatey aroma with some fruit. Body is relatively light for a stout. Roasted malts and coffee finish the whole thing out. Sensed a little metalic taste as well. I would like it better if it had better carbonation. stoutosaurus (157), Clinton, Mississippi, USA
