A pretty standard and unexciting stout. A very low alcohol level (from what I’m used to lately). A little on the thin side.

Pours with a one-finger brown head that fades quickly and leaves traces of lace. Totally black color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Nose is a sweet caramel. Starts and finishes with a coffee/chocolate flavor. A sweet stout. $5.95 for a 500ml bottle; found at Vintage Cellar, Blacksburg, VA.

Aroma and Flavor is melted sugar with some smokey notes. Noticed some chocolate and coffee notes as well. Body is really watery and thin. This is just Ok.

Aroma of smoke, molasses and coffee. Very dark with yeast particles on the bottom. Lasting light skiff and ring around the glass. Thin and dry for the style. Not a lot of depth or complexity. Chocolate and smokey flavour.

Black with brown tint. Nice tan head. Milky, toasty smoky aroma. Dry and a bit watery palate. Earthy coffee flavors and slight medicinal tinge. Not overpowering, but easy to drink.

This is fairly thin and unimpressive. Definitely overrated. Poured very black with no head. Had a sweet maple and Coca Cola aroma. The taste was light and smoky with a little salt and must. Nothing I would try again.

Had high hopes for this. Love stout. Like oysters. Opaque black with almost no head. The aroma was inviting. Chocolate, molasses. The mouthfeel was thin and watery. Weak. The flavor was watered down chocolate. Weak, flat, dull, insipid. Getting the point? Just didn’t cut it. Very disappointing.

Ruby red to black appearance. Very quickly dissipating, thin off-white head. Delectable chocolate and coffee aroma. Flavor starts off with the same chocolately creaminess in the front end and bittersweet chocolate in the back end, but it fades quickly and turns slightly metallic. Had promise at first.
