| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 16, 2003 Brown/black with a tan head. Chocolate aroma, watery palate and a weird taste at the end. I'd say this has more in common with a porter than a stout. npdempse (931), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 1, 2003 Dark brown, opaque. Fizzy Brwon head. Aroma is fruity--apples, chocolate, perhaps some sea salt. Flavor is rather light, mouthfeel is thin. Roasty, slight coffee flavor. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 29, 2003 Dark as could be. Nose is rich, a bit cola-esque with residual sweetness. Is a sweet stout, definitely not a lot of depth. A bit of coffee, light chocolate, mild roasts, also has a bit of earthiness. A mite too thin for me. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 18, 2003 Call me unappreciative but even though SilkTork (and my friend) went out of the way to get this bottle to me - did I get oysters packed in dry ice? Hell no! I have to put the shucking gloves and knife back in the drawer and open the blasted bottle to be had by its lonesome. Not the Imperial or west coast bottle giving me the sledge hammer effect, but the subtlety was not lost on me by far. Actually I was amazed that this lightly carbonated brew can show so much style. Think many could learn something from this. I mean I like my bucket of hops and I like other near overwhelming aspects of some beers, but when you can manage to be poetic, why not. And I feel quite whistable now. Aw shucks, this was good. chronictonic (404), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 15, 2003 Medium bodied U.K Stout. Nice roasted flavors, slighly sweet with a pleasant lingering malty aftertaste. Impressive amounts of flavor for an English Stout.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2003 Dark black with burgundy highlights and a thin tan head. Curious nose. Light texture flows down the tube rather easily, though not necessarily watery. A little thicker than, but similar to, cola, especially in its carbonation and texture. Notes of roasted malts, sweet syrup, cold coffee, unsweetened chocolate and maybe even a hint of smoke. roomtempbeer (185), Franklin, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2003 Beer pours (in Hoegaarden glass) a dark black liquid light can barely penetrate with generous, small-bubbled creamy off-white head giving way to large bubbles, quickly collapsing. Aroma is of slight licorice, lighty sweet with molasses. Flavor is a clean, crisp oh-so-light bitter - maybe some coffee, maybe not - that's all. This beer is easy and enjoyable. Very bubbly. No oyster flavor detected. Great product. Could be considered, perhaps, a bottled, less bitter Guinness. Sampled at 71 degrees Fahrenheit. MartinT (5075), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 18, 2003 Dry charcoal heats a cancerous, watery body, but don't worry its benign...Milky in the back, this quaffable, creamy roastiness sadly bears no head retention...A few blackberries appear but its a bit too late...I don't think I'll revisit...
