tap @ Swasbuckler pub in PA renfair. yeesh. pours murky dark brown with tan head. i was excited to see a dunkleweizen, but nobody that had it was happy with it. very little typical weizen feel. very thin and bland...some caramel and roasted malt flavor, with just a little banana and spice in the background. it got a little better as it warmed. maybe we got a bad batch as we got it right after the stand opened. perhaps it had been sitting in the lines since the previous week. i donno. the other guy that rated it last week seemed to like it.

Draft at PA RenFaire. Pours semi hazy medium brown with off-khaki head. Nose is caramelly malt, nuts, earthy peaty notes. Tastes caramel malty, earthy, with notes of brown sugar, walnut, and vinous fruit. Not sweet at all, but with decent balance. I filled a 20 ounce white mug of this and enjoyed every ounce.
