The aroma is a balance of floral hops and caramel malts. There is also a definite grainy aroma in the smell as well. The taste follows the aroma with a heavy caramel malt backbone. The citrus and floral hops are present but not overwhelming. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with lots of carbonation. This is an extremely sessionable beer that I’ve enjoyed for years and one that is a great fall-back beer in most bars in Atlanta. knights97 (85), Tennessee, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 13, 2008 Grabbed a bottle, expecting this to be a hoppie beer from it’s label EXTRA PALE ALE but what I got was more of a light ale with a faint taste of hops in it, not well balanced at all, mtjoseph (36), Murderapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2008 Bottle. Fairly clean pour with a small white head. Mild, hoppy aroma consisting of some subtle citrus overtones. Wasn’t very impressed with the first taste. Thought it was a little "thin" tasting. I enjoyed it a tad bit more with the second and third sip. A nice, clean, citrus palate that ends abruptly. Not too hoppy. Definitely more accessible of an EPA than Summit or Red Hook. awiseman01 (379), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 11, 2008 Picked up a 6 pack on a recent TN gettaway in a cabin in the smokies. Not too bad. Enough hops to gain the attention of the IPA lover. On the crisp, refreshing, citrusy side. Moderately carbonated and not too bitter. Pretty dry throughout; easy enough to drink. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 8, 2008 12 oz bottle. Decent hoppy aromas. Not super hoppy on the flavor, but decent. Pretty good. mansquito (843), Boston/Philadelphia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2008 Pours an orange body and a white head. Standard apa aroma or light hops, but it honesty it is a pretty weak aroma at least when it is cold. Rather hoppy taste for an APA. Slightly fruity. Gets better warmer and I curse the woman who gave this to me in a frosted mug. gotohelunc (476), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Updated: Apr 27, 2009Draft. Peppery nops on the nose and in flavor. Not a strong aroma or flavor, just a watered down pale ale. There’s a little bit of hoppiness in there, and it’s decently refreshing. Not a very interesting beer, but a reasonable session brew. surlysober (41), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 21, 2008 FIRST TRIAL: Pours a beautiful bronze with a wispy white head; aroma is cereal malt, floral hops, and just a bit of old vegetables; taste is more cereal malt, and floral, grassy hops, but the aftertaste is more veggies. Overall, I really liked my first sip of the beer, but as I continued drinking I noticed the aftertaste more and more and got to liking the beer less and less... Not a good omen for a session beer. Big thanks to BeerBelcher who was kind enough to share this with me (which he got from his beer of the month club).
