Commercial Description:
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

A very sweet aroma that matches the sweet blueberry taste. It has a wonderful mix of fruit and hops.

Pours a light clear gold with a tiny white head that quickly fades. Aroma of light blueberry, wheat and lemon/lime. Taste is watered down blueberry with wheat and lemon notes. Average.

Pours a clear gold, with a small off white head. Smells of blueberry muffins and syrupy malts. Kind of inviting smelling actually. A little sweet smelling. The taste was mostly the blueberry and malts. maybe a touch of some hops if you really search. If you like blueberries than this is the beer for you as it portrays their flavors pretty well. I am a medium fan of blueberries, so I somewhat liked this, although i could only drink one at a time.

On tap from the Vortex in Atl., Ga. Poured straw in color with very little head. Hint of blueberry nose, not overpowering though. Light style beer that goes down easy. Simple yet tasty.
