Commercial Description:
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of brentfeesh. Pours a clear slightly hazy golden with an off-white head. Extremely perfumy blueberry aroma. Thin body, very dry and perfumy blueberry accents. No hops - just blueberry perfume. 111009

12 oz bottle from Publix in Brooksville, FL. Pours clear gold with a white, dissipating fizzy head. Lots of bubbles. Nose is sugar, sweet blueberry pie filling, and malt. Flavor is same with a light body and a lingering berry flavor throughout. Overall a nice blueberry beer.

Thanks to markwise. Hazy gold, small white head, temporary lace. Strongly pronounced blueberry aroma. I like this. Blueberries also very strong on the front of the flavor, which takes a turn towards the pungent and peppery before a husky wheat finish. Overall sweet but slightly astringent. Disharmonious to me, parts coming together to make less than the whole. Medium body, chalky palate.

Pale gold, fizzy, with a white head. Fresh blueberry muffin aroma. Subtle hop and malt presence. Yeasty, wheaty quality emerges as it warms. Berry flavor deepens and expands toward the end. Light, but not too sweet.

Bottle… Clear yellow ale with no head. The nose is of restrained blueberry, butterscotch and honey. Medium-bodied with prickly carbonation. The flavor is berry-fruity, mashy and sweet. Crisp, lightly sweet finish. Bottle courtesy of growler!

Bottle from ucusty. Thanks D! Blueberry muffin aroma. That is what this one smells like. Golden pour, no head. The flavor is blueberry essence, blueberry muffin, a hint of wheat and thats pretty much it. Not overly sweet, the blueberry flavors are jus right. Very crisp and quenching stuff, light fruity essence lingers.

On Tap at Atlanta airport. Poured a light golden color with a very small white head. Aroma is a mild, sweet one with touches of blueberries. Flavor is not bad, but a lot more mild than I had expected. Not bad at all - but not very good pared with any foods that I had eaten.
