Commercial Description:
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

Bottle Pours a nice gold with a small white head. Has very interesting aromas of sweet fruits and flowers. Blueberries are the main aroma though. The taste is different very sweet but not a bad sweet. Has a good carbination and a okay mouthfeel. This one isn’t really my style but its not a bad beer.

Draught. Clear gold with small white head. Aroma is up-front blueberry. Candy like with a bit of post-nasal sourness. Finishes with lingering blueberry. Light effervescence. Not my thing and not structured well. More of a childlike novelty.

Bottle thanks to Joe. Pours a clear golden color with a tiny, quickly becoming nonexistent head. The aroma is light blueberries, some sugar and light malts. The flavor is similar, sweet blueberries, wheat, citrus and overall quite sweet. Decent.

Bottle pours a clear golden color with a huge aroma of blueberries right from the start. Flavor is dominated by blueberries, but there are hints of sweet malt and a slightly dry finish.

Pours a light amber with a small ring of head. A slight smell of blueberries. Can taste the blueberries but there isnt much flavor there. Very easy to drink.

Pours a pale amber with a darkish tint to it. The aroma is kind of fruity, malty, sweet. The flavor has some blueberry to it but it comes in more of an artificial fruit favor. Mild bitterness.

Clear Yellow-gold with a thin film of a head. Aroma is pretty much a blueberry muffin. The blueberries thankfully back off a bit in the taste but are still predominant along with a bit of doughy malt and a dry finish. Not really a bad beer, pretty refeshing actually but a bit fruity for my tastes.

Bottle poured a clear gold with a minimal ring of white foam. Aromas of bread, light straw and a hint of blueberry. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of bread, light straw and light blueberry with a crisp lightly dry semisweet finish.
